Chapter 7: You're Nothing Compared to Her!

Your POV

We walked into the bookstore, the smell of paper filling our noses. Loki looked at all the categories of books. "Let's go to the history books since you're new to Earth." I grabbed his hand and dragged him towards the very left corner of the store. "Let's see. Ooo World War I & World War II, The Great Depression, the Holocaust." I said, pointing at all the books on the shelves. "Is that all or is there more?" Loki asked. "There's a lot more. The American Revolution, The French Revolution, Vietnam War, also Pearl Harbor. There's much more." I replied. Loki nodded and grabbed a Holocaust book. "You know Hitler was a great leader. He listened to his followers, his people, but did terrible things. They asked for all the Jews to be dead because they weren't German and perfect like themselves."I said as I grabbed "A Man on the Moon: The Voyages of the Apollo Astronauts". "Oh" Loki sighed. We sat down on a couch that was nearby.

After 10 minutes I heard Loki cleared his throat. I looked over at him, his eyes were widened. He was looking at a picture of men, starving and were at the point of death, in a concentration camp. He looked up at me "How could the human race do this?" he asked. "We all don't have the same goals in life, which makes it difficult to cooperate with." I replied, I continued "I feel like my nightmare will come true because they usually happen. This time a leader will attack carelessly just for power." I laid my head on his shoulder. He sharply inhaled and exhaled. "Don't worry, if that happens, I will protect you with my life." he promised.

Everyone was outside. "We should buy our books and meet everyone outside." I said. He nodded as we stood up, I grabbed his book and walked to the cashier. It was an old woman "It's free loves, don't worry. You two have a beautiful future but rough patches." She said. "Really?" Loki said. We were both surprised and shocked. The lady nodded as I said "T-thank you." Then we walked out of the store. "There you are!" Marissa said, holding a bag with a stuffed animal. "Let's go, I'm hungry" Lolo said as he threw away his empty cup.

3rd Person

All 8 of them got into the same cars they drove in and went to Denny's. "Why can't we eat somewhere around here?" Loki asked as they exited Chinatown and onto the freeway. "Because 1) Lolo wants to eat at Denny's and 2) Denny's is the best American diner around here." I replied, answering his question. "I wouldn't say it's the best diner out here, but I'll eat it." Dani said over her shoulder from the passenger seat. "Well, I guess it wouldn't hurt to try." Loki says "besides I haven't tried all human food yet."

Once they arrived at Denny's, the two cars parked in the parking lot. Dorothy held the door open for everyone, and they were all inside. They were seated in a half circle like booth. The order went like: Loki, (y/n), Imori, Dani, Lola, Lolo, Marissa, and then Dorothy.

Then the waitress came up to us. "Hello everybody I'm Rebecca. I will be your waitress today." she greeted while passing out menus. "Would you like anything to drink, honey." Rebecca said to everyone except the "honey" was for Loki. Everyone was looking at their menus except for Dani and Loki. Dani noticed how the waitress' expressions changed once she saw Loki. "I think we'll have water all around." Dorothy said looks by up at waitress. "Sure thing!" she said giving Loki a quick glance before walking away, swaying her hips dramatically.

Loki rolled his eyes and turned towards the group. After awhile of waiting, Rebecca returned but something was up. A strong scent of perfume filled their lungs from Rebecca. Loki choked on the scent. The waitress' golden hair was down from the bun she was wearing. "Here you go." She said taking a cup of water from the tray and placed it in front of Loki first. He looked down at the cup then back at the waitress with a questionable expression. She winked at Loki and started to pass out the cold cups of water.
