This next chapter is dedicated to aauuddrraa for following and supporting the story!! Thank you!!
Drew was towering over me with small smirk beginning to grow on his perfect face. "What are you doing??" He questioned. "I got lost... Again..." I said; too embarrassed to look at him. Well, that's not entirely true. Drew is just too good looking for his own good, and a part of me was afraid if I maintained eye conact, I might stare at him like the creep I am. "Here, I'll help you back to the dining room." Then he did the most unexpected thing.
He reached for my hand.
Then it was like something inside of me roared to life. There was sparks, crazy amounts shooting into my hand making my heart flutter. "Does he feel this, too??" I asked myself, gazing up at him. He had this look in his eyes, but it couldn't have been real. He hasn't even known me for a day, so it must have been in my head.
As soon as it was there, it was gone. I must be going insane. Drew tugged on my hand, and we were off to the dining room. When we entered the room, everyone's heads sharply turned to Drew and I. Seriously?? Was there something in my hair? I saw three more people I didn't know sitting with my brothers, Jessica, Jim, and Maggie. Two of them looking identical a little, but too much, and then there was an older man that looked to be Drew's father.
I didn't even realize we were still holding hands until Drew jerked his out of mine. A pang of sadness surged through me. Why do I keep acting like this? I'm not usually like this. I am always confident; tough like my brothers, but now I am shy and nervous.
"Dinner is ready when you are!" Maggie joked, smiling warmly at the two of us. "Thank you", I said, taking one of the empty seats. Drew sat down next to me, again, of all places. If I had known Maggie was such an amazing cook, I would have been here hours ago!! We don't usually cook at our house since Jessica simply can't and the boys are banned from the kitchen. Let's just say, the day they decided to cook, we almost lost our house. So that only leaves me, and it wouldn't hurt to learn a little more than spaghetti and tacos.
"This is incredible!! You have to give me the recipe!" I said, smiling at Maggie. "You should come over some time, and I'll teach you a few things. But only if you would like." "Are you kidding?? I would love that!" I jumped in. She gave me one of her signature smiles,"Good! How about tomorrow?" I don't know why, but Maggie looked over at Drew as if asking for approval. He nodded his head slightly with a blank expression. What was that?
"Alright, I look forward to it!" I smiled, "Let me help you clean up." Picking up a couple plates and standing up, I followed her into what I would guess was the kitchen. After we were done clearing the table, I met Drew at the front door, expecting to leave.
"Do you want a tour?" He asked, surprising me. "Sure."
