A long path lied ahead of us. Full of twists and turns with an unknown destination. I still went with you. Some days your smile would burn brighter than the sun and other days you could hardly continue on. Many days you would tell me how happy you were that I came along, but sometimes I wanted to turn back. In sunshine, snow, rain, or storm, we went together. We never knew what to expect, but I went with you anyways. Watching you suffer was awful, but I wanted to stay with you.. It always hurt the most when you told me to go back, but of course, I never listened.
We stayed together for a long time, but then came a fork in the road. I wanted to go down the path, but you wanted to change course
And you did.
Even now, I don't understand why I told you "I'll go with you", when I never was with you really. You were always on your own path...
And you never wanted to go down mine
