FORKS, WASHINGTON

Luka and Valentina follow Bella as they walk out of Mr. Mason's classroom. There's a guy, another vampire, leaning against the lockers and he immediately goes to Bella before pulling her in for a kiss. Valentina glances at Luka, not expecting her new acquaintance to be dating a vampire. Bella gently pushes him away after a second and turns to the couple behind her, "Valentina, Luka, this my boyfriend, Edward."

Edward stays silent for a second, observing them before extending his hand for them to shake, "Edward Cullen, nice to meet you."

"Valentina Chevalier," Valentina shakes his hand with a smile.

"Luka Chevalier," Luka shakes his hand firmly.

"Are you French?" Edward asks as they all start making their way to their next class.

"Oui," Luka and Valentina respond simultaneously.

Valentina can see Edward glancing at her and Luka from the corner of his eye as if he were looking for something he couldn't find. He frowns and Valentina chuckles, something that doesn't go unnoticed by Edward. Luka and Valentina introduce themselves before sitting down, and being caught up by Bella. This goes on from Government to Calculus. It's pretty much been the same routine until they arrive at gym.

According to Coach Clapp, the girls are playing volleyball today. Valentina heads to the girls' locker room and changes into the uniform which consists of a grey t-shirt and navy blue shorts, then she goes back to the gym to play volleyball with the other girls.

Luka comes out from the other side of the gym wearing a grey muscle tee with a yellow jersey and navy blue basketball shorts. His various tattoos are visible and a few students noticeably stop what they're doing to stare. Luka winks at Valentina when his eyes find hers and she sticks out her tongue at him. He chuckles and turns to his classmates who were playing basketball while she turns to the girls playing volleyball.

The game quickly starts and soon enough, Valentina's team is winning. It was quite a long game, Valentina had to give it to the girls. Coach blows his whistle once her team wins and the girls pat Valentina's back and shoulders, telling her that it was a good game.

There's about 15 minutes of class left of class so Coach Clapp sends everyone back to the locker room to change, but not before stopping Valentina, "New student, what's your name again?"

"Valentina, coach, or just Val."

"Okay, just Val, you should think about trying out for the volleyball team next season. You're good."

"I'll think about it, thanks, Coach," She replies with a smile and heads to the girls' locker room to change before heading back to the gym to help around. Valentina waves at Luka who's waiting for her at the bleachers. She's picking up the extra volleyballs when Edward comes in with a petite brunette, the same one from earlier who had been with Emmett. They sit about 20 feet away from Luka and she hears the girl talk to Edward.

"That's the boy from my vision," The petite girl tells him quietly in an excited voice and Valentina's eyebrows raise in interest. So the Cullen girl can see the future, "Maybe I should introduce myself."

"Alice, don—" The girl, Alice, gets up before Edward can stop her and she heads towards Luka.

Valentina's eyes turn to Luka, who's already looking at her pointedly. He's not shy, but he doesn't like it when things inconvenience him and being put in a confrontational situation is definitely an inconvenience. Edward rises, as if hearing Luka's annoyed thoughts, and begins to walk towards Alice and Luka at the same time that Valentina does. They all reach Luka at the same time, who quickly pulls Valentina on his lap.
