Falling for the Duke Boy (Luke Duke)

Chapter 3

*Luke P.O.V.*

    After stopping by Allie and Cooter's house we headed back to Uncle Jessie's house. "You like her," Bo said. "Shut up, Bo," I said. "You pussy," he said. "Ok maybe I do like her. So what? She's the first nice girl, that is not related to me, that I've met in a long time," I said. "So," Bo said. "So she's also smart. And I really like her," I said. "Ok then," he said. We got back to the house and Daisy was still up. "Hey Daisy," I said. "Hey Luke. Don't you look happy," she said. "Yeah. Lukey here had to stop to see his little girlfriend," Bo said. "Allie," she questioned. "How did you," I began. "I see things," she said. "Like what," Bo said. "The way he looks at her. Tell me Luke what aspects do you like most about her," she said. "Well, she's smart, pretty, passionate about things she loves, and most of all she is talented," I said. "Well then go for it," she said walking to her room.

    The next morning we got up early and did some chores. While we were cleaning out the stalls we heard a knock on the door. "Bo, Luke. Where are you boys at," Allie yelled. Bo jumped up and sat on a stall wall. When I went to stand up I hit my head and yelled out. "Aahhh! What's up," I said. "Ummm, I wanted to see if you boys could do me a favor," she said. "Yeah, sure. What is it," I asked before Bo could refuse. "Can you boys chant or sing," she asked. "I can chant and Luke can sing," Bo said. "I need male vocals for my performance with my girls for the summer kickoff talent show," she said. "You actually have one of those," I asked. "Yes. Me and my girls are singing Candyman, and we need a couple of guys for the vocals and for dancing. We are meeting at my house at 4. You boys will meet my girls then," she said. "What do you mean dance. I can't dance, I just don't have the ability," I said. "Oh don't worry Luke you'd probably be dancing with me anyway," she said. "You have heard the song Candyman before right," she asked. "Yeah of course we have," I said. "If you need to contact me before 4 you can reach me on cb by the name of Happy A," she said before she left.

   "Aahhhh," I said rubbing my head where I hit it. "Well thanks Luke now we have to help her and Uncle Jessie," Bo said. "We can get all of our stops done before 4," I said.

*Allie P.O.V.*

    I went to school cause it was the last full day, and Sarah and Gwen came running up to me with worried faces. "What's wrong," I asked. "Bianca can't perform Friday. She has strep, we need you to lead," Gwen said. "Me! But I was going to be a backup," I said. "You have to lead. We all know that you have the best voice out of all of us," Sarah said. "Ok I'll do it," I said after a moment. "Great," they said together. "Oh I almost forgot. I got a couple of guys to be the male vocals and dance with us," I said. "What who. All the guys in town either don't want to get involved or already have things they are doing," Sarah asked. "Well Daisy just had some cousins come in from out of town. And I asked them," I said. "Well I guess it's Ok, as long as they are cute," Gwen said. "Well they are coming to practice tonight with us at my place at 4," I said before the bell rang for us to head to class. I went along my day pretty eventless then after school Sarah and Gwen came home with me. "Lost Sheep to Happy A," Luke radioed. "Happy A. What's up boys," I said. "Just radioing to let you know that we are on our way," Luke said. "Alrighty we are waiting for you," I said. "How soon will they get here," Sarah asked. "Yeah I can't wait to see how cute they are," Gwen said. "They will probably be here soon. Bo's a bit of a speed demon," I said. We then heard knock on the front door. I went and answered it and it was the Duke boys. "Sarah, Gwen, let's go  they're here," I yelled. We went out to the back yard to run through it. "Ok since Bianca has strep. I will be the lead," I said. "Now since the song is in the style of the 1940s you boys will have to dance with us like it," I said. "Luke," I said. "Y-yeah," he stuttered stepping forward. "Take my hands," I said. He grabbed my hands and I led him through the steps and when we were done I turnd to Bo. "Think you boys got it," I asked. "Yeah. Definitely," Bo said. "Do we need to run through it with the music. The dancing and everyone's singing parts," I asked. "You know I think we do," Bo said. "Cooter if you would please," I said. We ran through the song and did everything perfectly, then we wrapped it up and the boys went home. "He likes you Allie," Sarah said. "Yeah the one name Luke likes ya," Gwen said. "He's only known me for two days. How could he like me like that already," I said. "Umm sweetie, it's called love at first sight. And boy does he got it bad," Gwen said. "Girls I told myself after the incident that I was not going to get involved with a boy so quickly ever again," I said. "But we can see that he's not like the other one," Sarah said. "No. I don't break promises with friends and I am certainly not going to break one with myself," I said. The girls eventually went home and I went to sleep to get some rest before the big night tomorrow.
