*Allie P.O.V.*

We rode together all the way to Uncle Jessie's house with the car on the tow. When we got there I hopped out of the truck and greeted Uncle Jessie. "Hey Uncle Jessie. Where do you want cooter to unhook the car," I asked him giving him a hug. "Over in the barn is fine," he told Cooter. "Hey Allie why are you all wet," Daisy asked. "Oh. Luke was trying to impress some girls and jumped in the watering hole by Hogg's Ravine. When Bo didn't come back up with him, I had to be the lifeguard," I explained as we walked. When we reached the barn Cooter was cleaning out some lakeweed. "I got the back Allie, you get the front," Cooter said. We got to work and it was really coming along. When everything was completed Daisy handpainted Bo's lucky number on the doors. I was standing over to the side when Luke came up to me. "So Allie, I don't think I properly thanked you for saving me earlier," he said. "Yeah you think. For Pete's sake you weren't even making eye contact," I said. "Yeah sorry about that and thank you for saving me," he said. I turned to him and smiled. "It's no problem. I used to be a lifeguard at the local pool," I said. "So that's how you were able to pull me up out of the water without help," he said. "What's that supposed to mean," I asked. "That you were able to lift my muscular body," he said. I giggled at that. "What's so funny," he asked. "That you think you are muscular," I said. "Oh so what is your definition of muscular then," he asked. "Muscular is when you can see the defined muscles from a distance. I'll introduce you to the perfect example one day. His name is Wade," I said.

"Oh is this Wade person someone I should be worried about, competition wise," Luke asked. "No he's the town Player. I'm not interested in Players not anymore at least, but he is nice to look at," I said. When the car was dry from the new paintjob, we rolled it out of the garage. "Congratulations, Allie, Cooter, you are honorary Dukes now," Daisy said. "You know back in my day, we used to name our cars after Generals," Uncle Jessie said. "Well then this one must be named after the greatest general of all," Luke said. "General Lee," Bo finished. They climbed in the General Lee and come to find out Bo soldered his door shut. They took the General Lee out for a test drive and Cooter and I went home. I walked in the door and was immediately greeted by our dogs. Our short-haired golden retriever Lemon and our bluetick coonhound Jezebelle. "Hey girls you wanna go for a walk," I asked them. They immediately got excited and jumped around. I attached their leashes and headed out the door with them. As I was walking around town I ran into people and chatted. Then I ran into Wade. "Hey there sweet darlin'," Wade said walking in step beside me. "Wade I've told you to leave me alone," I said. "What's not interesting about me to you," Wade said. I stopped and turned to look at him. "Wade you're a great looking guy. You got the blonde hair and the blue eyes. But I'm just not into the whole player thing. You used to be really sweet then you just flipped one day," I said. "Who's to say that I would do that to you," he said. "Because you already heve done it to me. Wade do you even remember my name," I asked. "Gabrielle," he guessed, I shook my head. "Sarah. Andrea," he kept guessing, I started to walk away. "Wait. I was just kidding Allie," he said. "Don't talk to me until you are truly sorry for what you did," I said walking away from him. I finished walking the dogs then went home to relax.

I was out in the frontyard relaxing after dinner with the family and the dogs, when the Duke boys swung into a spot on the curb. "Hey guys what's up," Bo said. "Ummm. Kids who are these boys," mom asked. "Momma these are the Duke boys, Bo and this here is Luke," I said. "Oh hello there," my mom said shaking their hands. "Howdy ma'am," Luke said. They then turned to Cooter and I. "The General Lee is amazing. We love it," Bo said. Luke saw the dogs and stepped toward them as Bo kept talking and I joined him. Lemon and Jezebelle started growling until I put my hand on Luke's  shoulder. "Girls it's okay. Luke is a friend," I said to them. "What are their names," he asked. "Well the golden retriever is Lemon and the bluetick coonhound is Jezebelle," I said introducing them. He let them sniff his hands then he pet them. "So you're a dog person," I said making conversation. "I actually have a bluetick coonhound back home," he said. "Oh really. What's the name," I asked. "His name is Jackson," he said. "Luke quit flirtin' and come on," Bo yelled. "Shut up Bo," Luke yelled back. "I'll see you later, Allie," Luke said.

I stood and watched them drive away and when they were out of sight I turned around. "What was that, young lady," my mom said. "Momma he's just a friend," I said. "They just moved into town today," Cooter said. It started to get dark and we all went inside. "So you gonna do the talent show this year, sweetie," my dad asked. "I am performing with my girls," I said. "Oh and what are you planning to perform," my mom asked. "Candyman," I said. "Wait isn't there a male vocal in that song," Cooter said. "Yes. Which is why I was hoping you could help with that," I said to Cooter. "No. No. No. You know I can't sing," Cooter said. "Please not even for me," I asked. "No. Find someone else. Go ask the Duke boys tomorrow," he said. "But they got the other job they are doing," I said. "Oh. I'm sure they would have time for you. After all they are both pining after you," he said. "Fine I'll talk to them," I said then turned to walk upstairs to my room to go to bed.
