Grey silently cursed under his breath. I held his gaze, grating my teeth in anger. I could feel the power of my soul pushing past my control, threatening to unleash itself. Electricity singing underneath my skin.
"Look, she did- and I pushed her off of me and left immediately after that," he explained.
"Oh, so she was on top of you?" I narrowed my eyes at him, raising an eyebrow.
"No- she- look, I left right afterwards. I told her I was in love with you and only you and we would never happen. I told her- I promise. Please. Please just-" he pleaded, taking my hands in his. I ripped them out of his grasp.
"Sleep on the couch tonight," I whispered, my voice surprisingly void of emotion.
"Jordan," his voice broke a little, his eyes flicking back and forth between mine. He never called me Jordan.
"Unless you want me to break your rib cage, I suggest you sleep on the couch," I repeated. He pressed his lips together, crouching down slightly so we were at eye level.
"I would never do this to you. You know that," he breathed. I could see in his eyes how painful this was for him, but somehow managed to hold my resolve.
"But you did," I shot back, tilting my head to the side slightly.
"No. She did. I will never break your trust like that. I could never do that to you. You are the only person I have ever loved. I love you. So much. Only you. You are everything to me," he took my hands in his again. I ripped my hands out of his once again, and a little bit of my soul slipped through my lapse in control. I felt the electricity blossom underneath my skin, a little wave of blue-ish white glowing in a wave underneath my skin. Grey glanced down at my skin and then back up to my eyes.
"Don't go back there. I told you she had no respect for our relationship," I replied coldly, pushing my soul back down.
"I won't. I promise," he whispered gently, his eyes flickering fluorescent blue.
"She doesn't get to take what's mine," I stated coldly, unabashedly staring into his eyes. He nodded and took my hands again. This time, I let him.
"She won't," he replied softly. "My entire existence, I've only ever been yours. Everything i am, everything I have ever been- it all belongs to you."
God he was good. He broke my heart in one second, and the next made me want to marry him.
"Are we- are we okay?" He breathed, rubbing his thumbs across my knuckles. I sighed. Unfortunately, my stubborn resolve I had when it came to others didn't seem to exist when it came to him. He messed up. He knows I was right. He won't do it again.
"Yes. We're okay," I replied, pressing my lips together.
"I'm sorry I didn't believe you," he reached up, running his thumb across my cheek.
"Now you know," I shrugged.
"Now I know."
There was a silence. He ran his thumb across my bottom lip.
"I love you, Jordan. And I have never loved anyone. But you. If I ever hurt you, it would destroy me," he whispered, his turquoise eyes flicking back and forth between my lips and my eyes.
"I know. I love you too," I replied solemnly, my eyes flicking up to meet his. He leaned down, gently pressing his lips to mine. One of his hands cupped my cheek, rubbing back and forth across my skin, while the other squeezed my hand. It was a gentle kiss. Not a lustful one. But one full of love nonetheless.
"You still want me on the couch?" He breathed out against my lips.
"No. I don't sleep well alone anymore. And I know you don't either," I replied softly, reaching out and gripping the fabric of his shirt to tug him closer.
