Alone (a RobStar fanfic)

Chapter 6

Star POV

I woke up and immediately started to cough up the water from my lungs. I looked around and saw a nervous Robin pacing back and forth. I could move so I sat up. He came over to me and asked how I was doing. "I still feel a little dizzy," I told him. " Maybe you should rest a little longer," he suggested. " No, I have already been a burden to the team for the first time this happened and I kept the team up most of the night from this last incident," I explained. I stood up and started to wobble until I finally fell over. Before I could hit the ground, Robin caught me.

"Star, none of this is your fault. You shouldn't be held responsible for an injury that's not your fault. You could've been seriously hurt." He sounded a little aggravated. I don't blame him but I do truly feel like a burden to the team. When I regained my balance, I left to go to my room.

Robin's POV

Starfire walked out of the clinic. I was now alone...one thing I have always feared. Ever since my parents died I told myself that I wouldn't ever lose someone I love... not again. With this whole situation with Slade targeting Star, it makes me anxious and angry inside. I left the clinic and went to the ops room. When I got there, Cyborg and BB were playing the usual video game and Raven was meditating.

A few hours passed and it was time to hit the hay but Star didn't come out of her room. Like before, I went to go check to make sure she was alright. I went to her room and knocked.... no answer. I knocked a little louder...no answer. I was starting to get some real deja vu or something. I managed to blow the door and get into her room. No one was there just like before. I figured she was on the roof like last time so I went up there to check. To my surprise, she wasn't there. My heart started to race. I went to Raven's room to see if she was in there with her. "What?" She answered in her usual monotone voice. "Is Star in there?" She shook her head and slammed the door. I knew that she wouldn't be in Cyborg or Beastboy's rooms. I started to really panic now, I couldn't lose her. She meant the world to me. I woke up Beastboy and Cyborg and got Raven out of her room. I told them she was missing and we had no time to waste.
