When Lola began to regain consciousness, everything was different than before. She could feel that she had changed. She opened her eyes slowly and became acutely aware of the fact she had nothing covering her nude body but a thin sheet. Lola sat up quickly, suddenly alert, and pulled the sheet tightly around her. She looked around the room and found she was, luckily, alone. She relaxed just the slightest bit with this realization.
Her relaxation, however, was short-lived. When she looked down at herself, she screamed. She had fur all over her body. Not only that but upon further inspection, she found she had a tail too! She recognized this fur pattern and tail style. They were that of a tiger. The very same animal that had been on her name tag! These psychotic scientists had turned her into some sort of anthropomorphic tiger!
Lola let out a roar of rage. She hadn't come here to become some humanoid animal! She just wanted them to help her escape her abusive parents! They had told her they would do that! They had promised!
Lola was sick of being betrayed. She had been betrayed by her parents, her "friends", and now, the people who were supposed to help her! The more she thought about the most recent way she'd been betrayed, the more the rage gave away to the sadness she was so used to feeling. She should've guessed this would happen. She should've known that she couldn't trust anyone. Yet, time and time again, she puts her trust in people, only to be betrayed.
As the last of her rage faded, Lola's energy went. She collapsed back onto the bed, and gave into the sadness, letting it wash over her in waves. She sobbed openly and her black hair fell across her face. As Lola cried, the dark, peacefulness of sleep crept over her and she returned to the infinite dark of unconsciousness one again.
