Lizzie sat up from her place on the floor and rubbed her eyes before she remembered where she was. However, she didn't begin to tremble as she often did before an anxiety attack. Her expression went quizzical as she had been bracing herself for another onslaught of anxiety but it never came. Lizzie stood up slowly and blushed herself off, even though she didn't need to. Her room had the same cleanliness of a hospital.
A knock came at the door but before Lizzie could respond, it opened and Dr.Keagan entered. Lizzie yelped and began quivering. "It's alright Eliza, I'm not here to do anything else besides move you,"
"Move me?" Lizzie questioned, "Move me where? Does your little science experiment have more parts to it? We're not lab rats for Christ's sake! We're human beings!" Lizzie seethed with anger. She could barely control her urge to harm Dr. Keagan. In fact, the only reason she didn't was her desperate need to retain her humanity.
Dr.Keagan scoffed. "You all aren't exactly human anymore, are you Eliza?" Realization hit Lizzie like a brick. She wasn't the only one who had been changed so drastically. The other three people in her group were also changed. Why hadn't she realized this before?
Lizzie couldn't believe she'd been so self-centered. Dr.Keagan must've seen the look on her face because she smirked. "Are you coming or not?" Dr. Keagan asked, still smirking. Lizzie sighed. On one hand, she didn't want this woman to win and on the other, she wanted to know if everyone else was alright. She weighed her options and determined which was more worthwhile. "I'll come with you," Lizzie stated, a hint of defeat in her tone.
"Excellent choice Eliza," Dr.Keagan trilled, "I would have hated for you to have declined. You don't want to know what would've happened," and with that Dr.Keagan strolled over to Lizzie's closet and opened it up, revealing an assortment of clothes, all made to accommodate Lizzie's new look. Dr. Keagan motioned for Lizzie to get dressed and strolled out of the room, leaving the door open & waited out in the hall for Lizzie.
Lizzie crept cautiously over to the closet, half-expecting someone to come out of it and jump scare her. When no jump scare came, she selected her clothes and put them on. She now wore a white off-shoulder short-sleeved top, denim shorts, & white ballet flats. The outfit was surprisingly similar to the one she had at home that she called "her confidence outfit." Lizzie walked out the door to Dr.Keagan and they walked through the laboratory's halls to meet the others.
