Star Wars: The Tale of Darth Aolroth Book III - Fall of Darkness

Chapter One

Years have passed since the Great Schism of the Empire. The lava planet of Mustafar has been named the capital of Darth Aolroth's Empire. The Empire created by Darth Malgus has been fighting a war of two fronts against the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire. In that planet, a rebellion is being fought.

Rebel Leader: DEATH TO THE FALSE EMPEROR!

The leader of the rebellion shouted as he led his rebellion throughout the castle of Darth Aolroth. When they reach the citadel of the castle, they begin to be gunned down by Shadow Squadron. Those who weren't gunned down were rounded up the Commander Piece.

Pierce: That wasn't a smart move.

Suddenly, one of the captured rebels starts running. Without hesitation, Pierce pulls out his blaster pistol and shoots down the fleeing rebel, scaring the others.

Pierce: Let that be an example for the rest of you! Any of you try to run and you'll end up like him! Now get moving!

Commander Pierce laid out his orders Shadow Squadron rounded up the surviving rebels and moved them to the throne room where Emperor Aolroth sat in his throne with Darth Xhax and Lord Scourge by his side.

Emperor Aolroth: What is the meaning of this Commander?

This lot here was trying to start up a rebellion but as you can see, it has failed.

Lord Scourge moves towards the rebels.

Lord Scourge: You all have been charged with treason. What do you have to say in response to these charges?

The leader of the rebellion made his voice known.

Rebel Leader: This empire is fucked! We're fighting a losing war! This.....

But before the rebel leader could finish, he felt the sensation of choking. He sees Darth Xhax, extending her hand, gripping him with Force Choke.

Darth Xhax: Silence your tongue! You stand in the presence of our Emperor!

Darth Xhax hisses in rage. The aged Sith eases his apprentice's rage.

Emperor Aolroth: Let him go Darth Xhax. He will be dealt with.

Darth Xhax releases her grip on the rebel leader.

Emperor Aolroth: Execute them Commander Pierce.

Pierce: At once sir.

Commander Pierce complies as he pulls out his blaster pistol and begins executing the rebels. When he gets to the rebel leader, he aims his pistols.

Pierce: Any last words?

The rebel leader looks to Emperor Aolroth.

Rebel Leader: You call yourself an Emperor?! You're a coward! You don't have the guts to kill me yourself!

As Pierce prepares to pull the trigger, Emperor Aolroth stops him. He walks up to the rebel leader and pulls out his lightsaber and decapitates him. Emperor Aolroth deactivates his lightsaber and looks to Commander Pierce.

Emperor Aolroth: The rebellion is crushed.

Commander Pierce nods as holsters his blaster pistol.  After the executions, Emperor Aolroth meets with Darth Xhax and Lord Scourge.

Darth Xhax: Another rebellion crushed master.

Darth Xhax bows to her master.

Emperor Aolroth: Yes Xhax. Scourge. How fares the war?

Scourge: Based on reports from Grand Admiral Quinn, the Republic have retaken several systems within the Core Worlds while the Sith have regain territories in the Seat of the Empire.

Emperor Aolroth: What of the Outer Rim regions?

Scourge: We still maintain a strong presence in the Outer Rim. But based on how fast both the Republic and the Empire are gaining, it won't be long until either of them start to advance towards the Outer Rim.

Darth Xhax: We'll destroy them both!

Emperor Aolroth says nothing as he ponders the situation.

Emperor Aolroth: Then we must launch an assault on the heart of the Empire. Scourge, contact Admiral Quinn.

Scourge: At once.

Lord Scourge complies as he patches Grand Admiral Quinn onto the castle's holoterminal.

Quinn: My lord.

Emperor Aolroth: Admiral Quinn. Summon the entire fleet. We're going to launch an invasion on Korriban.

Quinn: Such an ambitious task my lord.

Emperor Aolroth: Will it work?

Potentially. But we would have launch an immediate attack and conquer the planet just as fast before the Sith fleet could reinforce the planet.

The invasion held severe risks. If the invasion failed, then Aolroth's Empire would be finished. Everything rested on this invasion.

Emperor Aolroth: Then we'll launch a diversion. Send half our fleet to attack Taris. The Empire will have to split it's fleet.

Quinn: That could work. But that would leave our divided fleet vulnerable to Republic attack. I'm afraid to say this, but it seems whatever we do, we endanger ourselves to our enemies. It is your choice my lord.

Emperor Aolroth looked over his options. The risk was high, but it always falls back to what the Holocron said. This Empire was the the path to True Peace.

Emperor Aolroth: Divide our fleet. Send a bigger force to Taris to distract the Empire while we send a smaller force to attack Korriban. The risk will be high, but for the cause of True Peace, we must take that risk.

Quinn: As you wish my lord. I shall meet you on the Devastator.

Grand Admiral Quinn says as the transmission ends.

Scourge: This is is big gamble Lord Aolroth.

Emperor Aolroth: I know. But we have no choice. We have the Empire and the Republic closing in. This is our best option for survival. This invasion is our best option to achieve True Peace.

Emperor Aolroth reaffirmed his dreams of True Peace for the Galaxy. The Invasion of Korriban was set in motion, and the risk of failure and destruction looms ever higher.
