Star Wars: The Tale of Darth Aolroth Book III - Fall of Darkness

Chapter Three

While Darth Aolroth makes his way to the Sith Academy, Darth Xhax along with Commander Pierce and Shadow Squadron lead the invasion force to the Sith Academy. They soon reach an encampment surrounded by droids, Sith Troopers and automated turrets. Troopers attempt to get pass only to get she t down.

Pierce: Sir! We can't get through that encampment! My boys can't get a clear shot on those turrets! We're getting mowed down out here!

Darth Xhax: Call in an airstrike!

Pierce: We can't sir! That encampment is protected by a defector shield!

After a moment of thinking, Darth Xhax comes up with a plan.

Darth Xhax: Pierce, throw an EMP grenade at the defector shield to give me an opening to get inside! I'll shut down the shield. Once it's down, call the airstrike!

The Sith makes her plan known. Commander Pierce likes the boldness of her plan, but fully understands the extreme risk of it. He had seen Emperor Aolroth pull off these brazen plans years before.

Pierce: I copy!

Darth Xhax waits for the opportunity to strike, when she sees it, she orders Pierce to throw the EMP grenade at the shields. The blast from the grenade creates an opening for the Sith and quickly gets inside before it could close. Once inside, Darth Xhax moves into the encampment, cutting through Imperial Forces inside. When she gets to the generator room, she is met by Inquisitor Zi'lesh.

Zi'lesh: So you must be Darth Aolroth's apprentice! A pleasure to make your acquaintance!

Darth Xhax: You must be Inquisitor Zi'lesh, it would be wise to surrender.

Zi'lesh: I'm afraid I can't do that. I would offer you the same, young one.

Darth Xhax: I would never betray my master!

Zi'lesh: Such loyalty in someone so young! It's a shame I have to kill you.

 Zi'lesh pulls out his double bladed lightsaber. Without a word, Darth Xhax does the same. The two exchange stares at one another.

Zi'lesh: Now let's see how high your pain tolerance is!

Darth Xhax charges at the Inquisitor and the two begin to exchange a flurry of blows. Zi'lesh defects each of Xhax's attack. Then he Force pushes her away and shoots out a torrent of Force Lightning at her, but defects it with her lightsaber. Zi'lesh continues to shoot out Lightning as it builds up in her lightsaber. Eventually, she summons the strength to attack, landing a killing blow onto Zi'lesh as she plunges her lightning fueled lightsaber into his chest. The shockwave causes the generator to short circuit. Seeing the defector shields go down, Commander Pierce calls in the airstrike. Darth Xhax meets up with her battalion as they retreat from the blast zone. They soon hear the roar of the bombers as they level the Imperial Encampment. Once the bombing was over, they continue moving to the Sith Academy. Emperor Aolroth stands at the foot of the Sith Academy and enters inside. As both Sith and Imperial Forces inside the academy attack the Emperor, but he swiftly cuts them down. He soon makes his way to the room of the Dark Council. When he enters, he sees an empty room, but was soon met by a Sith woman.

Emperor Aolroth: Empress Acina at last.

Empress Acina: Lord Aolroth, the False Emperor stands before me.

Emperor Aolroth: It's over. As we speak, my forces are making there way to the Sith Academy. Surrender or die!

Darth Aolroth laid out his ultimatum. Empress Acina simply laughs.

Empress Acina: And why must I surrender to an Empire of traitors? Do you really think that highly of yourself?

Emperor Aolroth would hear the blatant arrogance in her voice.

Emperor Aolroth: Your overconfidence shall be your downfall!

Emperor Aolroth thenhe activates his lightsaber. Acina does the same.

Empress Acina: I hope you're ready to die, Emperor.

Acina changes at Aolroth. Both exchange powerful and lightning fast attacks. Both were equal in power. Acina and Aolroth fought with the full power of the Dark Side on there side. Acina uses the Force to lift up an explosive cannister and hurls it at Aolroth. The explosion seemingly engulfed Aolroth, but he jumps out from the explosion and attacks Empress Acina. She sees the burns on his face, but doesn't seem to slow him down. He lands a slash on her and kicks her to the ground. He aims his lightsaber at the Empress.

Emperor Aolroth: It's over Acina. You have lost.

Acina let's out a blood curdling laugh.

Empress Acina: You really think so Aolroth? Such a blind fool! Your blindness will be your doom!

Acina cackles as she begins to shoot a torrent of Force Lightning upon the Emperor. The force of the lightning knocked the lightsaber out of Aolroth's hand, forcing him to block the lightning with his hands. As she continues to shoot out the lightning, Emperor Aolroth moves closer and closer to Acina, while swallowing the pain from the lightning. He could feel his hands burning from the heat and his muscles tensing up as he continued to move towards the Empress.

Empress Acina: Why won't you die?!

Acina growls as Aolroth moved even closer. When he gets to her, he takes her hands, still shooting the lightning and moves them to her head. Acina's screams of pain and anger overpowered her reason as her own lightning began to overwhelm her.

Emperor Aolroth: Now you die!

Aolroth snarls as he unleashes his own torrent of Force Lightning, combining with Acina's. The sheer power of the torrent of lightning ended up killing Acina. When the lightning finally ceased, Aolroth collapsed on his back. Looking at the ceiling above him, he sees the form of his beloved Seras.

Emperor Aolroth: S.....Seras....

Emperor Aolroth calls out to her, but the form disappears. Emperor Aolroth gets up and begins to clear up the rest of the Sith Academy.
