Star Wars: The Tale of Darth Aolroth Book III - Fall of Darkness

Chapter Eight

After killing Darth Angral, Darth Xhax rendezvoused with Commander Pierce and the rest of Shadow Squadron with Imperials prisoners.

Pierce: Sir! We've managed to take hold of the facility!

Darth Xhax: With Angral and Tarnis dead, our final victory against the old Empire is within our grasp! 

The Imperial prisoners soon caught her eye.

Pierce: What do you want to do with the prisoners sir?

By all rights, she was free to execute them. They were enemies of her master's Empire. They would've no doubt have killed her on Angral's orders. But instead of outright killing them, she turns to Commander Pierce.

Darth Xhax: What would you suggest, Commander?

Pierce: I'd say we give them a chance to recruit them. It would be a waste good manpower just to slaughter them. We need all the manpower we can get if we're going to invade Dromund Kaas.

Darth Xhax: Would they even be willing to join us? To take up arms against the Empire they served?

Pierce: That will be up to them. These are good men despite serving the old Empire. It would be in our best interest if we were able to recruit them.

Darth Xhax walked up to the Imperial prisoners. They were plagued with uncertainty for all they knew, they were about to be executed this very second.

Darth Xhax: I offer you all a chance to live. You served the old Empire, but you nave have a choice. You will either serve the new Empire, or you die. If you serve us, you will be pardoned by our Emperor and will be instrumental in achieving True Peace for the Galaxy. Will you stand with us in creating True Peace, or will you choose to die defending a dying Empire?

Darth Xhax laid out her ultimatum to the Imperial prisoners. This ultimatum silenced the silent Imperials. They were given a choice: betray the Empire and live or die defending it. One by one, the Imperial prisoners agreed to join Aolroth's empire. They would forsake the old Imperial Empire and join Aolroth's Empire. After recruiting them, Darth Xhax contacts Emperor Aolroth via holocommunicator.

Darth Xhax: We've taken the Balmorran Weapons Factory, master.

Emperor Aolroth(Holocommunicator): What of Darth Angral and Lord Tarnis?

Darth Xhax: Dead, master. Dead by my hand.

Emperor Aolroth(Holocommunicator): Good. Once news of Angral and Tarnis's deaths reach the ears of all Imperial forces, they will surrender themselves to our authority.

Darth Xhax: We've already recruited the remaining Imperial forces remaining in the weapons factory to our cause.

Hearing this please the Emperor, filling him with nothing but pride for his apprentice and Commander Pierce's Shadow Squadron.

Emperor Aolroth(Holocommunicator): You have done well, my apprentice. With your victory, we can apply the final death blow to Baras's empire! Return to the Devastator. We have much to discuss.

Darth Xhax loyally complied as she and her forces returned to the Devastator. Once Darth Xhax returned to the Devastator with Commander Pierce and Shadow Squadron, Darth Xhax and Commander Pierce met up with Emperor Aolroth along with Grand Admiral Quinn and Lord Scourge.

Emperor Aolroth: Welcome back.

Quinn: You two have done well to take the weapons factory. With the factory under our control, not only does Baras lose his supply of ships and weapons, those very supplies now belong to us.

Emperor Aolroth: Is the fleet ready, Admiral Quinn?

Quinn: Yes my lord. The newly acquired Imperial Fleet is now integrated into our own fleet. They are ready on your order!

Scourge: Perhaps we could try to reason with Baras.

Darth Xhax: What makes you think he'll listen to reason?

Quinn: He'll no doubt refuse. But if we attempt to reason with him, news will spread of our attempt to end this peacefully. This will play in our favor when we invade.

After a moment of pondering, Emperor Aolroth decides to contact Emperor Baras via holocommunicator. As the form of Baras appeared, he began to speak.

Emperor Baras(Hologram): Aolorth! What a wonderful surprise! Th what do I owe the unexpected pleasure.

Emperor Aolroth: Listen here Baras. Your Empire is dying. It will not survive much longer. I'm giving you an opportunity to survive.

Despite the serious threat from Emperor Aolroth, Baras simply laughed at Aolroth's words.

Emperor Baras(Hologram): Do you really think that?! Bold of you to assume that you can scare me!

Emperor Aolroth: We've taken the Balmorran weapons factory. Agral and Tarnis are dead. You're an emperor of a dying empire. You have a choice Arkous, you can live in the new world or you can die in the old one. Will you choose reason, or will you choose suicide?

Baras simply laughed at Aolroth's offer for mercy.

Emperor Baras(Hologram): You really are a delusional fool! If you really feel that way, then why don't you come to Dromund Kaas and show me you pathetic power!

Emperor Aolroth: We'll see Arkous. Just know that you've doomed yourself and those who follow you!.

Aolroth ended the communication with Baras. He looked to his allies as the next course of action was obvious.

Emperor Aolroth: Admiral Quinn. Prepare the fleet. We gave Baras a chance to survive and he refused. He will die. As with anyone who fights for him.

His allies agreed as they prepared for the invasion of Dromund Kaas and the end the final remnants of the old Imperial Empire.
