36. An Old Friend Returns
[3rd person POV cause shits gonna get crazy]"You're gonna take her on a road trip that ends up back in her home town, and that's when you'll propose?" Alex asked, taking a sip of her chocolate and banana milkshake. Larry, Alex, and Sal sat in a diner just outside of town. Today they we're just hanging out. Alex skipped class to come down and spend time with Larry, and try and prod Sal's engagement plan from him.
"Nope." Sal said, popping the P. "Not even close." He said, swirling around his own chocolate milkshake.
"You're gonna stick it in a burger." Larry said next. Larry had a root beer in front of him. They were currently waiting for their food.
"Then she would eat it, Larry." Sal replied, smirking under his mask. He may or may not have thought about sticking it in her favorite food, but quickly changed his mind, as he didn't want his future bride choking on it.
"Not if you had it sticking out far enough!" Larry replied, trying to justify himself. The friends laughed at him. "What about a picnic under the stars?"
"Aw! Yes that one!" Alex grinned. Alex was never a big girly girl, but she was happy for (Y/N) and Sal, so she loved hearing about it. "That would be so cute! She would love it!"
"I thought about it, but I had Neil talk to her and try and ask her without being too suspicious. She said she wants something spontaneous, and doesn't want to know it's happening, so I think something big and extravagant would tip her off."
Alex tapped her chin as the food came out. "So, you're gonna just put it on Gizmo?"
Larry laughed, "What if Gizmo tried to eat it?"
The three started eating when Alex stopped, "In a milkshake! Like a cherry!"
"Clever, but no. Plus I don't think whipped cream could hold a ring up."
"Oh, you'd be surprised at what whipped cream can hold." Alex shrugged.
"Okay, gross." Larry said, shoving the girls shoulder. Larry has a huge crush on Alex, even though they were already friends with benefits, Larry wanted more. He wanted to be with her, but neither of them were looking for that.
"Not like that you pervert!" She cried, shoving him back. Alex also had a crush on her new friend, but she thought, after his recent break up, that he wasn't looking for anything other than a few nights under the sheets.
"You guys just aren't gonna guess it!" Sal laughed, lifting his mask up slightly to take a bite of his chicken tenders. "And even if you did, I wouldn't tell you."
"Aw, you fuck!" Alex frowned. "Then why were you letting us guess?" She asked. Alex looked down at her place and grabbed a fry, plopping it in her mouth.
"I like to hear your ideas." Sal chuckled.
The group of friends continued to bicker, eating their meals in between. Once they we're done, they paid their bill and took their leftovers to Sal's car. Once inside, Alex started playing some music. Everyone sang and danced along until they got to Lake Wendigo.
Sal loved coming to Lake Wendigo. It gave him so much peace and serenity. The sounds of the water, the smell of nature, it was all very calming.
Sal pulled into a parking space on the small gravel parking lot, just to the west of the lake. They decided to come here for some relaxation time. Alex and (Y/N) just had mid terms, and Alex thought she really didn't need to go back for like a week, which wasn't necessarily the case.
(Y/N) still had a mid term today and tomorrow, so she was still up at the college, doing what she needed to Ace those tests. Luckily, she already had her days mid term, which meant she had her English lecture, as well as her math class left for the day.
