"That night completely changed my life"

Rubbing her eyes, she looks at her mum swiping all the jewelries in the luggage.

"mummy, what are you doing?" she asks and let out a yawn.

"jennie, faster pack your stuff, we are leaving to New Zealand later"

Jennie crinkled her brows in confusion, wanting to ask why but was dragged off from the bed by her mum. She wanted to tell her mum that she didn't want to leave but she was more confused about what is happening.

"pack only stuff that you think is important, the rest we can get it there," her mum says and went to get another luggage.

"where is daddy?" she asks as she started packing her stuff, still don't know what is happening.

"he is coming to pick us up later," her mum says and walk around the room, with her hands on her hip, thinking what else to pack.

The telephone on the living room ring non-stop but her mum stop her from answering and ask her to ignore it. Jennie can't stand it and walk over to pick it up, her mum ran over and hang up the call. "jennie! I told you not to answer it!" her mum yelled at her.

"but it has been ringing for the past 15 minutes" jennie tried to explain.

jennie slowly approach her mum, trying to ask what happen but her mum ends up breaking down in front of her.

The phone ring again, she looks at her mum sitting on the floor, hugging her knee and crying out loud then look at the phone, then look at her mum again before walking over to pick up the phone.

she dropped the phone after she heard what the person across said.

Her mum widens her eyes upon realizing that jennie had answered the call, she panics and runs over to hang up the phone.

"I told you not to answer it" she furrows her brows.

"they... they say ... daddy... are in ... the ...hospital now..."

Jennie's point of view

"Please settle the bill at the counter first," the doctor said Nth times.

"What makes you think that we can't afford the operation?!" my mum shouted back.

"I never thought it that way, I am just following the rules. You settle the bill first and I will proceed with the operation" the doctor explained the Nth times.

"please do the operation first" my mum's voice was so much softer as if she was begging the doctor.

What I didn't expect to happen next had happened, my mum knee down in front of the doctor, pull the edge of his coat and beg him.

"mum we should just settle the bill first and the problem is solved" I bend down to reach my mum's level, trying to get her to stand up but she refused.

"please stand up, I really can't do anything about it," the doctor says.

"I wouldn't stand up until you agree to do the operation first," my mum says, tears at her cheeks starting to dry up.

"then I am sorry" the doctor swipe my mum's hand off his coat causing my mum to fall on the floor and he walks off.

I hugged my mum tightly as if it's giving her energy or maybe it's giving me energy.

"why don't you just pay the bill?" I ask softly.

"your dad has transferred all the money to New Zealand there, we don't have any money right now" my mum started crying again.

"silly, we can get it to transfer back" I furrow my brows slightly.

my mum just shakes her head. "we can't, the money there is for you to use in the future"

"don't be silly, daddy is more important right now" I smile, not knowing what is happening, I smiled.

"we can't... once the money is transfer back, it will be freeze and your dad took so much effort to transfer the money there"

before I can process what my mum told me, she started panicking. "oh wait the jewelries!" she started standing up and running out. I followed her.

When we reached our house, we saw people moving our furniture out of the house. My mum run over to stop them but was pushed to the floor.

"you can't do this to us now" my mum beg them.

I have never seen my mum so helpless in my entire life before.

I am very confused what is happening but immediately swallow my curiousness when I suddenly remember the purpose of us coming back is to get the jewelries so I walk over to hint my mum about it.

She run to the room but the room was almost emptied. She pulls off every single drawer to check and I stopped her. "mum can you at least explain to me what happens?" I hold onto her hand and look into her eyes.

She furrows her brows a bit "I promise, I will explain to you, later on, your dad can't wait"

I sigh and let go of her hand. She started pulling out all the drawer. "mum, stop there isn't anything here"

"no, no, your dad says before if anything happens to him and we are need in of money, he asks us to look for a brown file and he says that there are solutions inside"

"they probably took that away too," I say as I scan around the almost emptied room.

"no, your dad says its placed at somewhere only me and him will know" my mum leans against the wall while trying to think.

"mum isit this?" I say as I pull out a brown file behind the big frame of my parents' wedding photo.

my mum run over, snatch over the file and open it. She pull out everything, she saw a letter with a few documents behind.

"When you guys see this letter, probably because I am gone and you guys need money urgently. This is the last solution, still remember taehyung? look for him and he will take care of you guys"

"Taehyung?" I frown repeat the name. The name I thought I wouldn't say it anymore.
