On the morning of 31st October, Nadine was wailing at top of her lungs ever since she had woken up. All efforts from Alice, Frank and Augusta were deemed useless as Nadine hadn't stopped crying one bit. Alice decided to feed Nadine some porridge, which stopped her from crying. From the moment she had stopped crying Nadine started chanting just one word repeatedly "Arry. Arry".

Nadine's Granduncle Algie came to take both the kids to his house but Nadine refused to go in anyone's arms, instead she continued crying. So Algie had taken Neville with him accompanied by Augusta. Alice and Frank were about to go on a mission in the evening so they owled James and Lily to ask if it was okay that they would leave Nadine with them and James and Lily assured them that they would look after Nadine for the night if need be.

Alice and Frank stopped at the Potter house to drop Nadine and went on their Order mission. The moment Nadine had seen James and Lily, she flung herself on Lily yelling "Lileeeeee", her mop of brown hair bouncing. Lily hugged the small girl tightly and placed a kiss on her forehead. Harry and Nadine played on their toy broomsticks gifted by Sirius for sometime, but now they were just sitting playing with soft toys.

James had grown a bit frustrated from being shut up in the house, no matter how much he wanted to go out he couldn't as Dumbledore had his invisibility cloak. He wasn't showing it but Lily understood. They recently heard the news about the McKinnons family being dead and Lily had cried all evening as Marlene McKinnon was her best friend since school. Peter Pettigrew had visited some days ago, he seemed a bit down to Lily.

Today Lily had an extremely unsettling feeling in the pit of her stomach. She was feeling really low. Harry and Nadine who were sitting on the rug were munching on some biscuits. It was Eight in the evening and Lily's anxiety had skyrocketed. After sometime Lily scooped Harry and Nadine in her arms and sang them to sleep in Harry's room which helped with her anxiety but the kids didn't go to sleep right away. Just when she was about to climb the steps to check on the kids upstairs, the front door was blasted out of its hinges startling James. The cold laugh of Voldemort was echoing through the whole house.

"Lily, take Harry and go! It's him! Go! Run! I'll hold him off....."

James did not mention there was another baby in the house. He wouldn't have been able to forgive himself if a child died just because of him. Lily heard a big thud downstairs and heard Voldemort's voice "straight backed and proud he is! Trying to hold the Dark Lord off without a wand". She heard the maniac laughter again.

Lily had no choice now, she knew all had been lost but there was a little ray of hope, she had to make the gamble. She would take both the kids and disapparate. She didn't know where she would go, Diagon Alley or Perhaps Hogwarts or the Ministry of magic. She would make the decision once she gets out of the house.

Nadine was sleeping beside Harry, covered in blankets from head to toe so much that she wasn't visible and Lily panicked a bit before seeing some movement from under the blankets, but the movements stopped just when the door burst open and Lily heard a cackle of laughter. Nadine was able to see what was happening.

Lily stood in front of the cot, shielding it. "Not Harry, not Harry, please not Harry" she was pleading now.

"Stand aside you silly girl..... stand aside now" Voldemort growled.

"Not Harry, please no, take me, kill me instead....."
"Not Harry, please have mercy...... have mercy"

Voldemort was done with Lily's pleading. He let out a shrill laughter and said it, the killing curse, the two words that left Lily's body limp and lifeless. Now he moved towards Harry. Harry was looking at his mother on the floor, he had heard her crying and pleading.
