4. The Undeserving Destiny

Hagrid landed in front of Number 4 Privet Drive, where Albus Dumbledore and Minerva McGonagall were waiting for him. Minerva was quick to notice the second child.

"Hagrid, I thought it was only Harry Potter, whom you were bringing. Who is the other child?" Minerva questioned.

"Professor McGonagall this is Nadine Longbottom, Frank and Alice's daughter. So what exactly happened Hagrid? why is Nadine with you?" Dumbledore asked.

Hagrid explained everything that had happened. After he was done McGonagall was eyeing Nadine with curiosity and bewilderment.

"How is that possible Albus? an one year old child put up an extremely strong protection charm?" Minerva asked Albus.

"Ah yes Minerva, you see Nadine here is a really powerful witch. Her first accidental magic incident happened when she was seven months old. Every word that Hagrid said is true and you can check if you want she has suffered magical draining because of her accidental magic" Albus explained.
Albus had expected a lot of questions from Minerva but she just smiled "I would be waiting for her to join Hogwarts Albus" Albus smiled at that.

Albus, Minerva and Hagrid kept Harry at his aunts doorstep and returned Nadine to her family, which was worried sick. Albus explained everything that had happened that night and suggested that they don't mention the presence of Nadine at the Potter house as it would put her life in danger. Albus left the family to take care of their child. Frank and Alice were definitely happy that Voldemort was finally dead but James and Lily had to sacrifice their lives to save Harry's life and the fact that Sirius had betrayed his best mates was the worse kind of pain they've ever felt.

(A/N) so guys I've changed the story's timeline a bit Actually it was never mentioned when were Alice and Frank Longbottom tortured so in this story the event happens some years later, when Neville and Nadine are old enough to understand that something is wrong with their parents.

The downfall of Lord Voldemort had caused a huge uproar among death eaters. Though Wizarding England was breathing a sigh of relief, death eaters were running around the country. Some were killed by aurors, some lied to save their necks by saying that they were working under the Imperius curse and then there were some death eaters who submitted themselves to aurors saying the Dark Lord would get them out, some of them included Bellatrix Lestrange, her husband Rodolphus Lestrange, his brother Rabastan Lestrange and Barty Crouch Jr. The Lestranges had talked themselves out of Azkaban along with Barty Crouch Jr after some years of their imprisonment. They were roaming freely in London now and the need to look for their master was not yet satiated. They did not believe for even one second that their master was dead.

Even though the war came to an end years ago the auror were still trying to round up some dangerous death eaters. Frank and Alice were some of those aurors. When they heard what had happened at the Potters house, they were shell shocked. They had heard the news of Sirius Black betraying the Potters. Frank and Alice couldn't belive it, the Sirius who would be completely dedicated for every Order mission, the Sirius who James and Lily trusted. The news had left them hurt. His betrayal was the reason James and Lily were dead.

The Wizarding world had taken a long time to recover from the war. It had been four years after the downfall of Voldemort. Neville and Nadine were five years old now.

Frank was on duty at Diagon Alley that night when he saw a mysterious figure in a narrow alleyway, being more alert than ever Frank directed his attention towards the figure, his wand raised in his hands and suddenly he felt a sharp pain at the back of his head. Someone had rammed his head with a heavy object.
