the soft cloth draped with such delicacy
such that could only be professed
the red roses hidden between its folds
Hiding the secrets
Of the unknown
a white dove landed gracefully
with such beauty, it was astounding
a soft melody escaping
So alluring
wings fluttering with such grace
such that never ended
A sign of peace to come
A promise fulfilled, for the dead
a mellow tune faded in the back
the soft notes of a piano
such beautiful sounds
ones that brought tears afresh
in an orderly fashion
they stood hand in hand
one holding the other.
a woman bent on her knees weeping;
a child ,wide eyed ,lost.
a clear sky,
a faraway hope,
one begging to be reached.
But the mountains, towering above
a fence,not yet brought down
they had seemed to miss the petal
one that had escaped and flown
it had drifted then stopped
only to lie on top of the mound
here was another soul snatched
another set of words stolen
the casket,closed with a thud
carefully lowered
the dove had continued singing
the piano didn't miss a beat
the petal lay their blending in
yet they cried and cried under the soldering heat.
