• THREE DAYS LATER •

Our relationship was slowly blossoming into something beautiful.

I still couldn't believe this entire situation.

Ten or so years ago, if you came up to me and told me that I would fall madly in love with a man named Freddie Mercury, who also happened to be both the lead singer of a band and the acting host for a Greek God, only for him to also say that he did in fact love me back...

I would have called you an absolute nutcase!

Not even a longtime friend of mine could warn me of this whole ordeal, he claims that he's worked with these types of situations before for years now.

I actually prefer to call him a mentor rather than a friend, he's a mysterious fellow, but I was actually one of his agents before I started going to my therapy sessions with that jackass therapist.

Now, he's seemingly disappeared, along with an orange-haired friend of his whom he'd always chat with on the phone.

Now, my mentor's friend is a whole other character entirely.

In fact, he's the exact opposite of my mentor.

He's a witty, short-tempered, hothead that always wears these black, circular glasses.

I nicknamed him Janus when I first met him.

ANYWAYS!

To set the scene, Freddie and I were, once again, strolling along the sidewalk of New York, we had been walking together for almost three hours.

If we wanted to, we could have slept on that sidewalk together.

"We should dine at the Ritz!" Freddie exclaimed while giving me a peck on the cheek.

"I've heard some wonderful things about that place," I mumbled while smiling like an idiot, I was currently stroking my now blushed cheek. "Have you been there before?"

Freddie shook his head.

I knew that the Ritz was a popular attraction for couples to dine at.

Maybe, Freddie had wanted to dine there with someone special before he met me?

A picture of a woman soon entered my mind, I considered her a possible contender.

It was someone I remember hearing about when searching Freddie's mind during that flashback...

She had a beautiful head of blonde, straight hair, a small, lipsticked mouth and eyes that were similar to Freddie's.

Their eyes could read you like a book...

"Mary..." I mumbled as quietly as I could.

Freddie didn't miss a beat though, he stopped dead in his tracks and unlatched his hand from mine.

His lips were pursed and his eyes bugged, his pupils were staring directly into mine as he struggled to swallow.

His hands immediately went up as he didn't break eye contact with me.

"I swear, Lily," Freddie began. "We are no longer—"

"Who is she?" I asked, the tone of my voice was filled to the brim with curiosity, I wasn't upset or anything, I just wanted to know who this Mary was.

Freddie didn't respond at first, he looked like he was in deep thought.

"A friend," Freddie stated firmly, there was a frightened look in his eyes. "Yes, a longtime friend of mine."
