The Princess and the Hawk (Mihawk x OC) (One Piece fanfiction)

Prologue

My name is Kuruma. I'm the princess of the Raven Kingdom. The daughter of King Crux and Queen Anna. I was their only daughter and only swordswoman in my kingdom. People would call be a bit strange, there were no swordswoman in the kingdom. All the men trained to become warriors and knights. But swords are my specialty. 

I've been training with swords since I was a little kid. I was a bit clumsy at first, I almost killed myself several times. My parents feared I would kill myself during training so they hid all swords from me. I was extremely dissapointed in my parents, not believing in me was a cruel thing. So I ran away for a bit. Unfortunately I was only 9 so I wasn't really that fast as I would be as a teen. I was easily captured and brought back to the caslte. The expression on my parent's faces, I had no words for it.

They banned me from using swords. Never let me out of the castle without a guard. I was like a bird stuck in a cage. I wasn't free at all. I spent my days just reading books, locked in my room all day, totally against my will though. I never read the newspaper and was never informed of any major events. I started to turn a bit rebellious.

This really frustrated my parents. They went to extreme measures. In front of me, they destroyed one of my swords. It broke my heart to see one of my swords break. Then they gave me the ugliest glare a parent can ever make. Our relationship started to crumple. 

One night, I actually managed to get to my sword closet that was locked. I managed to pick the lock with a hairpin. I opened it up and my heart was overjoyed, all my swords, that weren't broken, were ok. All of them, all 100 of them. I decided, tonight would be the night I finally make my escape. But to leave no evidence I was in the closet, I only took my two favorite swords.

Nidai Kitetsu, a cursed sword. It's one of the 21 Great Grade Sowrds. it was said to be made by an ancient swordsman named Kitetsu. All the swords he made were cursed. Anyone who would wield it would die a horrible death. But I miracously broke it, I guess I was chosen for it. This balde is super sharp, a sword that I truly love.

Asa, one of the 12 Saijo O Wazamono Grade Swords. It's a beautiful sword, an edged long sword that has a curve at the end of the blade. The blade has a nice pale yellow color. The handle is ornated with jewels. Asa looks like a golden cross. It looks much like the famous sword Yoru, the brother sword of Asa. Both have exceptional power. Both are believed to be the strongest swords ever. It's sharpness exceeds millions of swords. I recieved this sword as a gift from a famous knight that once roamed the kingdom. Of course, I wanted to wield it. And I had the chance to.

With these two swords, there's nothing I can't do. 

I snuck away from the caslte, without leaving a single note. Not a single trace of evidence was shown. Just a locked door was all my parents needed to know that I was in there. Only that I wasn't in there. I was OUT of there. Finally gone, this birdie is flying awaaaaaay~

As I stepped outside the castle doors, I let my purple hair fly with the wind. Fresh air surrounded me and the cold wind hit my face. I gladly swung my swords around my hip. Well..Asa had to be put on my back, it was huge.

As I quietly shut the huge castle doors, I practically sprinted to get away from the castle and towards the dock. I wasn't expecting anyone there, but it seems that I had a visitor. Lucky for me, it wasn't one of my parents or a pirate. Instead, it was that famous knight that gave my Asa.  

I explained everything to him. He was just about to leave the island to another island called Hotaru Island. He invited me on his boat, he told me there was a sword academy there. I would be the youngest member, I would be surrounded by teenagers. But I didn't care at this point, I wanted to go as far away from my home as fast as possible. My kingdom is in the Grand Line, there are THOUSANDS of places in the Grand Line. It'll be impossible for my parents to find me.

We sailed for a lot of days. I managed to survive by fishing with the knight. 

Then we got to Hotaru Island. it was truly a beautiful sight. Thousands of fireflies surrounded the island. On the island, there was a lot of pretty houses and people walking around. There were also huge sakura trees and autumn trees. I was beginning to like this place already.

The knight decided that I would move in with him in his house. Of course, I didn't disagree. He would also train me, as he was the brother of the owner of the sword academy. I would still attend it.

Oh how I would love life since I left the kingdom.  I would finally be free from my kingdom's grasp.
