The unlikely pair, a wizard who breathed with the wisdom of an age, and a homeless elf, who had seen more of the world than she ever expected to, carried on side by side down the forest road. They had been friends, often traveling together or often looking for each other for over 160 years. Their time spent together no longer required the companions to fill the quiet with talk. Gandalf would merely hum and mumble along to the songs Mithrellas sang, perfectly content. Occasionally, however, they would discuss happenings that had occurred in their time apart or Gandalf would ask her opinion on what she would like to see in regard to his fireworks.

Thoughtfully, she stopped, turning to look at Gandalf.

"This burglar of yours, what is he coming along to steal?"

Gandalf paused his humming to give her a fond smile before he turned to look back over the road.

"A mountain, my dear. The entire mountain."

Mithrellas considered the grey wizard before her for a moment before she responded with the swiftness that caused Gandalf to enjoy her company.

"Sounds like quite the tale."
