The past few weeks have been both a blur and an gigantic pain. I had to see Yuvaan everyday, it was almost like the same routine. He looked at me, we had and eye contact for a mere second and he used to turn around and walk away or I did. It was too hard to get over him. I don't even know how long is it gonna take me to get over him. Alisha and Aditya have been total sweethearts. They hardly leave my side when we're at the campus. Initially I had to literally threatened Aditya to go and talk to Yuvaan.

I know he did wrong on many levels. But I'm not the kind of person to take his best friend away. Breakups are hard, well at least in my case. I don't even know if he was remotely affected by it but I'd still want his best friend to be with him. I'm not an attention seeker and I'm quite frankly fine now. The mourning and crying with a bucket of Baskin Robin's is over. Although, I did enjoy the romantic comedy marathons.

"Inaaya, you up?" My mom yelled from downstairs.

"In a minute" I said pushing the covers off me. There was finally something to look forward to, it was my birthday. I'd be lying if I said that I imagined it to start this way but I'm okay with it.

"Cookies!" I yelled in excitement. My mom makes the best cookies and I'm not even being narcissist.

"Those are for Ahaan, he's leaving tomorrow and you know how much he loves them" My mom said, busy taking out another batch of cookies.

"That's the only occasion you're doing this for?" I ask eyeing her.

"Yeah, what else? Did I forget something? " She asked looking thoughtful. She actually had to think what today was. There goes all my excitement and happiness.

"Nah, nothing. I thought there was" I said and went back upstairs to get dressed.

Maybe it just slipped out of mom's mind that it's my birthday. I'm sure she'll remember it by the time I get downstairs or maybe Ahaan and Dad would tell her.

It was my day at the end, yeah I know birthdays are very overrated and all. But I just maybe hoped this one would've been different. I turned the music on while I rummaged through my closet to find my outfit of the day. After deciding from over 10 options, I settled for one. The best and my favourite one.

It was a pink colour sleeveless playsuit with spaghetti straps and checkered romper tie waist. It was v neck. I also found a pair of necklaces to go with it, three gold chains of different length. They had an different charm attached to it. The smallest one was almost like an choker. Of course I didn't forget my loops and wore a bracelet around my wrist. For shoes, it was nude block heeled sandals. The ones which you had to tie them up. In all I was more than happy with what I was wearing.

Slinging a bag on my shoulders I made my way downstairs, only to be greeted by my father and cousin discussing something like detectives.

"What's up people?" I asked them as I made my way towards them. They looked at me like their secret was about to be out.

"Nothing, we were just talking about his new job and stuff" Dad immediately said and Ahaan nodded like a five year old does.

"Okay, that much of a serious talk?" I ask still giving both of them skeptical looks.

"Oh come on, you know how he is when he talks about business and stuff. Anyway, were you going looking like this?" Ahaan asked changing the topic. I decided to let it go for now but doesn't mean I'll forget it.

"You going on a date?" My dad asked and immediately regretted it. He was also ready to go beat Yuvaan or better yet send him to jail along with Ahaan. I told them to calm down and let me deal with it. Since then this subject has been taboo in our house.
