Brennen's pov
Colby, Sam, Alex, and I were playing the ouija board. Logan sat off to the side. We asked the basic starter question and immediately got an answer. "Is there anyone here who would like to communicate with us?" Colby asked. The planchette moved to 'yes.'
"What is your name?" I asked. The planchette spelled out Z-A-K.
"Did you die here?" Alex asked. The planchette flew across the board to 'yes.' We all looked at each other for a moment when the planchette started moving on its own. It spelled out Logan's name. We all looked at her confused.
"What?" she asked.
"It spelled out your name, Logan," Sam said. All of the color drained from Logan's face.
"Stop playing!" she yelled.
"Why?" Alex asked.
"Say goodbye!" Logan yelled. At this point, she was shaking.
"Do you think we should?" I asked looking at the rest of the group. We were all confused, even Alex.
"I mean-" Colby started.
"Dude, what was that?" Alex asked.
"Let's just say goodbye," Sam said. We all moved the planchette to 'goodbye' and went over to Logan. We sat down around her and tried asking what was wrong. She wouldn't answer. We sat in silence for a few minutes until we heard rustling in the bushes a few feet away from us.
"Guys...did you hear that?" Colby asked. Everyone nodded and Logan looked up.
"We need to leave," Logan said getting up frantically. She pulled Alex to her and started walking off.
"Why do we need to leave, Logan?" Sam asked. She stopped in her tracks. I went up to her and tapped on her shoulder. She turned around and went back to everyone.
"There's a reason I don't play ouija boards. But, it doesn't like that. It wants me to play, but I don't need to," Logan said. She leaned against the rock in the center and put her head down.
"What the fuck was that?" Colby asked.
"What?" we all asked.
"Those footsteps," Colby said.
"Should we-" Sam started. We were cut off by a huge bang against the wall Logan was on. We all snapped our heads towards her. "Was that you, Logan," Sam asked. She shook her head no. Her eyes were practically popping out of her head.
"What is it?" I asked. Logan doesn't say anything.
"Um guys where's Alex?" Colby asked.
"Oh, fuck," Logan said. She snapped out of whatever sort of trance she was in. She started going towards where we heard the rustling.
"Would she have gone anywhere?" Sam asked.
"Logan, wait up," I said while we all started to follow her. She kept walking, searching frantically.
"ALEX!" she yelled.
"COME ON ALEX THIS ISN'T FUNNY!" Sam yelled as we all started to look for her. Logan started breathing heavier with every dead end she came to.
"LOGAN!" we heard Alex scream. Logan took off in the direction of Alex's voice.
"Alex!!" she yelled. "Keep talking!"
"OH SHIT!" Alex yelled as she tumbled down a hill and landed in front of us. Logan helped her up off the ground.
"What the hell happened?" Logan asked.
"I-I don't know. Let's just get out of here," Alex said. We all grabbed our stuff and went to get the ouija board to put it away. The planchette had moved to 'no' on its own.
"Did you touch that?" I asked Sam. Everyone shook their heads no.
"Say goodbye again right now. Don't give him time to answer. Just put it away after," Logan said. After we put it away, we were debating if we were still going to stay or not. "Let's go. He doesn't want us here. Well, not unless he has one of us," she said trailing off.
"What does that mean?" Colby asked.
"Guys, let's just wrap it up for tonight. Let's go. Logan's obviously upset. Alex fell and tumbled we need to make sure she's okay," I said.
"I agree," Sam said as he kept looking around every few seconds. Colby gave him a look that said we're talking later. I got in the car and started driving back to the Trap House.
"Pull over, Brennen," Logan said. I pulled over and she got out of the car. She started throwing up violently. Once she was done, she got back in the car.
"Are you okay?" Colby asked.
"I'll be fine. Just too much.... excitement," Logan answered. We pulled up to the Trap House and everyone went inside. We all sat in the main living room and started talking about what happened.
"Alex, you okay? You took quite a tumble down that hill," I asked.
"I can't really move my left wrist too well, but other than that I'm fine," she said. I grabbed her wrist and started looking at it.
"There's some bruising. Your wrist is also starting to swell. You might have to go to a doctor," I told her. She didn't look too happy. Logan sat down next to Alex.
"How'd you get up there anyway?" Logan asked.
"Well, when we were walking away from the board, I stopped to tie my shoe and when I was done you guys weren't there. So, I started looking for you guys when I heard you guys call me from up on the hill. So I went up there and couldn't find y'all. I started walking around until I heard Logan call for me. So I started walking over towards where I heard you but then something pushed me down the hill," Alex explained.
"She pushed you? She's never done that before. I told you guys we should've left sooner," Logan said.
"What do you mean she?" Sam and Colby asked at the same time.
"Nothing. Anyways, is everyone else okay? I know we all got a little shaken up," Logan asked.
"Yeah," we all answered.
"Hey, Sam, can I talk to upstairs?" Colby asked. Sam nodded and he and Colby walked upstairs.
