"Thank you." Yechida says as we make our way back to the pack house. "For?" I ask, raising an eyebrow in her direction. "I know you didn't want your brother to come but I need people who you trust. People I can trust to protect me, no questions asked." She tells me, her eyes begging for approval. I forget she's so young, that Sahira asked me to raise her. "It's fine, you were right to chose Macella. He will protect you no matter what and so will the others." I tell her, smiling down at her brightly. She smiles back at me. "Thank you Khons!" She yells excitedly, wrapping her arms around my waste tightly. "Anytime kid." I ruffle her hair playfully.

I can't help but think about how it would feel to be a father, to watch Lina give birth to our very own child or to raise Yechidia. I hope that once we find Lina she will want that. I smile to my self as I picture the future we could have, then run to catch up with Connor and Macella.

"Where exactly are we going anyway?" Macella asks. "We are looking for Lina I already told you guys that." I tell him ruffling his hair. Weren't you listening?" I ask as he shoves me away from him, placing his unruly curls back in place. "Of course I was listening but you didn't exactly tell us where you think Lina will be or how you know where she will be." he looks at me with an eyebrow raised. I sigh, I've never been able to lie to him and he knows it. "Just a hunch" I shrug. "You can't tell me can you? Just tell me where we are going at least. Then I won't ask anymore questions." he tells me. "Umm, we are going to the human domain" I scratch at the back of my neck, looking straight ahead. "What? Is that where she is? Khons you know if she is there in wolf form there is a chance that we are going to only be bring her back with us dead, right? What was she thinking, she could expose our entire race and put us all in danger. The humans would come looking for us but worse than that is that the other races will come. It would be a war between the races with every intention on exterminating us because we have exposed them. Khons, please tell me you have a plan." Marcella's words tumbled from his mouth almost as fast as his fingers raked through his curls.

I couldn't look at my brother, the truth was I didn't have a plan as of yet. I only hoped that Yechidia was right and we would make it there before Lina went through with exposing us. "You said if I told you where we were going that you wouldn't ask anymore questions. If you ask me I'd say that was about five." I replied darkly, shooting him a menacing glare. He coward a little but quickly composed himself. "Don't pull that alpha shit on me Khons! I'm your brother and beta not just one of the pack. Knock it off or I'll kick your ass or something!" Marcella yelled defensively. I only let out a disapproving growl. "That's it I'm calling mom" He yelled as he took off running, knowing I would try to stop him. "Wait Marcella, don't call her. I'll quit! You know she'll keep me on the phone for hours nagging at me about mistreating you!" I yell after him, receiving a boisterous laugh. "Marcella please! Hang up the phone!" I pleaded. "You'll start acting like my brother and not like a pompous alpha?" he asked. "Yes just hang up." I told him. "Okay, besides I never pressed the call button anyway." he shrugged carelessly. I counted down from ten trying to calm my temper but somewhere between seven and five I found my body hurling toward my little brother and tackling his form. "Hey!" he shouted laughing loudly as I sat on top of him giving him the worst nuggy of his entire life. "Khons it was just a joke I just wanted you to act normal. Get off!" he cried out.

It was a disgruntle cough or clearing of the throat that brought my attention from teasing my brother. "You know Khons, when I begged Sahira if I could please go along with you, she made me promise that I would behave myself, that I would be good for you and Connor and try not to be childish. I never expected to be the one having to watch after two fully grown men and make sure we stay along the schedule. Get up and come on. We still have along way to travel and we are about to enter vampire territory and we do not have time for extra delay. Who knows what could happen in there." Yechidia's arm extends pointing to the dark woods that were coming up.
