Khons' POV

As I tore through the limb that was gripping around Lina's throat I began to lose myself. Tearing the limb completely off of her attacker I position myself to pounce. Her eyes widen as she looks from his lifeless arm and back to were it was once attached. "Arms are a wonderful thing to have, to bad you won't live long enough to miss it." I growl out before jumping on to the man. My teeth sink into his neck silencing the scream that had started to escape. I try to stop, to force myself to let go and shift but find myself shaking his lifeless body as if it were a toy instead. "Khons" I turn at the sound of my name, growling loudly as a drop my kill and guard it. My shoulders hunch ready to pounce. "Khons, it's only me. Listen to me Khons. I'm hurt I need you to come back to me." Lina cries out. The pain lacing her voice cuts me to the bone. My body begins to shift, breaking and reforming into a man. "Lina" I quickly approach her but stop when she flinches away from me. "What's wrong. Oh Goddess, please tell me I did not hurt you?" I beg, dropping to my knees. "You didn't hurt me. You were so scary. Khons, your eyes were red." I flinch at her words. Red? Like Conri's brother. Red like a wolf who has gone mad. Red. That simple word, that should be nothing more than a color, kept repeating it's self over and over in my head. My eyes had turned red. They had frightened Lina to the point she would not except my touch. Red eyes showed madness. They were supposed to be the sign of a rabid wolf, worse than the rouges. But I didn't feel rabid or mad. I just felt like me. I had felt stronger, more powerful, and possessive, but never mad, not once. "I am sorry" was all I could tell her. I didn't know what to say. We are ordered to kill wolves with red eyes. They are a danger to us. "You may kill me now." I turn my head away from her bearing my neck. "I won't tell anyone. I love you Khons and killing you would kill me." she whispers softly as her hand brushes my cheek. "You have to. It's the rules." I demand. "Rules that we now make. Our word is law and I refuse to kill you." she tells me. "As you wish. Now please show me were you are hurt." I say softly. After bandaging up Lina's arm with my shreded t- shirt we continue on our way through the portal.

"Khons!" An excited shriek is all I hear as step out of the portal and into a very familiar land. "Yechidia" I answer back relieved that she is safe. I quickly embraced her in a hug only letting go when a quiet whine comes from behind me. I turn, laughing at my jealous mate. "Lina, this is Yechidia. Our daughter." Her eyes widen at my words. She slowly begins to approach us. I open my mouth to explain but Yechidia beats me to it. "Um, I was abandoned in Connor's Village and his Mother, Sahira took me in and when Khons came she entrusted me to him. To keep me safe of course. She promised that I would be the safest with both of you and my mate at my side." Yechidia babbled. "Your mate? Who is your mate?" Lina asked casually soaking in all of the information. "Connor" I breathed out. "It makes sense now, why he wasn't with his village. He wouldn't stay if his mate was leaving but why did Sahira believe that she was so important she would send her with you for protection?" Lina looked at me seriously. "I can't tell you here, it isn't safe." I told her, she nodded in understanding.

"Khons?" Macella questioned "Yes Mac?" I replied. "Doesn't father have an old alliance in the Fae realm?" he asked me. "I believe so. The Faerie king and queen if I remember correctly. We used to play with their boys when we would visit." I tell him excitement beginning to etch my voice as I think about my old friends.

After deciding the best plan would be to proceed towards the castle until we ran into someone that could help us we continued on our way. I watched as Apsel slowly made his way to Lina. Every few steps he would come a little closer until he was right by her side. I smirked as he timidly reached up and took hold of her hand. Her reaction was shocked and almost shy at first before she reached down and lifted him up placing him on her hip and kissing his cheek lovingly. I smiled widely as he lays his head on her shoulder and wrapped his tiny arms around her neck.
