Khons's POV
Running in wolf form took a lot less time then traveling as humans. Thank the Goddess that I could get Connor to shift! He was a little unstable but after about an hour of clumsy running he finally got the hang of it and even started giving Yechidia and I a run for our money. Being more experienced does give you a little advantage when your opponent is faster.
"How much longer Khons?" Connor whines. "About another mile. It shouldn't take much longer, just relax and let your wolf get used to running." I tell him, laughing to myself. He is older than Lina, but he acts like a teenage boy.
We continue on, noses to the ground, moving swiftly through the trees. "Stop!" Yechidia commands. I freeze mid jumps landing softly on my paws with a quiet thud. "What's wrong?" I mind link her. "Someone, is here..does your pack know we are coming?" she inquires. I respond with a nod, quirking a wolfy brow. "Do they know about us? Did you tell them about me?" her voice is becoming panicked, raising higher. Her head is moving, eyes unfocused as she swiftly surveys our surroundings. "They know I am being accompanied, they do not know anything about Yechidia, please calm down. You are safe." I reassure her, walking ahead a little to sniff for sent. I catch one right as a male shifter jumps down from a fallen tree. I dodge his attacks, prepared to submit him or kill if necessary. Connor is crouched protectively in front of Yechidia. The wolf launches again, losing balance as I charge his attack. I catch his throat in my jaws, shaking him a little. Yechidia lets out a yelp at the same time as the boy. "I will kill you if you attack again. Do you understand?" I growl out. "Yes, yes I do." He whimpers. Slowly I release his neck, taking cautious steps backwards. I place myself between him and Connor and Yechidia. "Why have you attacked us?" I command. "I..I.. orders, I'm supposed to attack anyone who comes near this portal." he tells me. "Why?" I look him dead in his eyes. "My Alpha is waiting for his son...he said that his son was on his way and he would signal when Khons had arrived." he says, I laugh as I watch him square his shoulders trying to hold my gaze. "Do I look like a threat to you? Do I not smell like my father?" I growled, furious at the lack of training the young wolf has had.
"Khons? Can we go now? We have to hurry, we only have so much time before we must go for Lina." Yechidia whispers. "Go! Inform Conri of my arrival and gather the leading Alphas. NOW!" I commanded, before pulling Connor and Yechidia along with me. "Father, why did you send a young, poorly trained wolf to guard the portal? If we would have been rogues that kid would have died!" I yelled through the mind link. He simply chuckles.
"Conri, I would like to introduce you to Connor and Yechida. Connor, Yechidia, Alpha Omega Conri." I introduced them to each other, taking a seat at behind my father's desk. Conri should have sat here. It's a sign of disrespect, what I've just done but I am using it as a sign of power. If I am going to be Alpha of my pack, of all of the packs I might as well act like it.
Connor's POV
"Connor, Yechida, Alpha Omega Conri." Khons gestured to the man in front of me. I felt my jaw drop the resemblance between myself and this man were unmissable. Our height was almost even our hair the same deep chocolate shade, high cheek bones, straight nose and full lips. The only difference were our skin tones, mine a little darker than his olive skin and our eyes, but the brilliant gold color of his eyes could be found in my own. After all this man is my father. I shook my head, reaching out to take his out stretched hand. "Connor" he whispered. "Yes?" I asked raising my eyebrow before turning to Khons, who was sitting in the large black chair behind the desk. His legs were propped up on the top of the desk, hands folded, a smirk spread across his face and amusement dancing in his eyes. "Do you know who I am?" Conri asks. "I think I have a pretty good idea." I say sarcastically. "Listen I am not sure how much you know or what you've been told. I know very little about you. I know I should have came back and gotten you. I should have brought you here and raised you to take over but I couldn't take you from your mother. Abandoning you wasn't my intention but your mother had already lost me, seeing each other was and is just to hard and taking you from her would have devastated her. I visited sometimes. Do you remember?" he rushed out, his expression was empty but his eyes were filled with sadness and hope.
Yechidia elbowed me in the ribs. I glanced down at her as she glared and gestured toward my father before scampering back to Khons. "My paints...you gave me my first set of paints. I have a picture of you that mom says I drew along time ago. When I asked who you were she said you gave me paint." I told him "Yes I did. Your mother loved to paint so I thought you might as well." he smiled sadly. "I didn't know about you. I don't feel abandoned. I'm just here to train so I can protect my mate, and help find my sister. I want Khons to fight for the Alpha Omega title. I'm not ready yet." I tell Conri honestly. "Of course, let's start training." he says nodding to Khons, who seems to have already taken the role of the Alpha.
We've been training for hours. Eight long dreadful hours before we were given a break. I ran to Khons as he was exiting the field. "I thought you didn't want to be the Alpha Omega?" I nudge him in the arm. "I don't." he replied. "Well you sure look like you're enjoying bossing everyone around." I told him, laughing. "I can't help it, I'm quite good at it. It's an Alpha gene I think, because most of us are bossy. We have to be in control." he told me with a lop sided grin. "Or your just bossy and you don't want to admit it." I teased, running ahead when his grin dropped into a scowl. I doubled over in laughter as him mumbled something about murdering or beating me.

Khons POV
It's been two days of nonstop training. I would say it has been completely exhausting but I would have been lying. It was fun, inspiring, encouraging, and fulfilling. Connor and Yechida were both amazing. Their progress from one day to the next was outstanding. They aren't completely trained, we never stop training, but enough that they will be able to defend themselves quite well on our trip to find Lina. "Khons?" Yechida says poking her head into my room. "Are you ready to go?" she asks taking a step through the door. "Yeah, just a minute." I tell her, nodding. "We will be down stairs." she tells me, leaving me alone in my room. After I finished packing my bags I made my way down to the living room, where Yechidia and Connor were both waiting, along with about half of my pack. "What are you all doing here?" I asked, approaching them slowly. "Dad told us that you were going to go and look for Lina, we all came to volunteer our services to help return our future Luna." It was my brother who spoke as he pushed himself through the small crowd to stand in front of me. "Four" Yechidia piped up. "Excuse me?" I asked whipping around to look at her. "We will only need four of your pack members to go with us. Any more than that will draw to much attention." she winks. "Would you like to pick the four out?" I ask her. "Why of course." she smiles brightly before turning to the pack. "Samuel, Callum, Alec, and........Macella." she concludes, rubbing her hands on her shorts. "Is that a problem Khons?" she asks turning to me with a raised brow. "No"I mutter looking to my little brother. I know that I can trust him. I know trust is important to her and that is why she picked him but Macella is my little brother. I almost lost him to Rakeash and having him with me on our trip is only going to have me worrying, disrupting my focus from protecting Yechidia and finding Lina.
I've decided to go ahead and update. I have really been trying to make my chapters longer but I didn't want to make any readers wait any longer. Vote, Comment, and Enjoy! -AnnaKay <3
