Defensive Aren't We?

"She is none of your concern Davanni. This is my daughter and be sure that anyone who so much as looks at her wrong won't be living dead just dead. I don't take kindly to threatening what belongs to me." I find myself saying. "Wow way to keep cool" Macella mind links me. I send a glare his way before fixing it on Davanni. A smirk spreads over her lips. "A bit defensive aren't we? It was just a simple question. I'm just....curious, that's all. She smells so appetizing." Davanni takes a subtle step forward. It would have been unnoticable if I hadn't been on high alert. My stance becomes defensive as I angle my body for attack. Callum is on his feet in a moment, ready to defend his mate. "Kohns" he sends a warning. "Callum, you will not interfere. If your mate wants to be stupid enough to attack a child infront of her father and mate then you will stand down and watch as she is ripped to peices." My alpha voices spits in his direction. He visibly flinches at my words. His head lowering as he speaks. "Davanni, please listen dear. This isn't what you want. You want to be with me, right Davanni? Why are you risking our lives over a meal? Davanni?" Callum calls, his voice is sweet, alluring one might say. Davanni's eyes spap to his as he lulls her with the only thing his mother ever left him. The voice of a siren.

As Davanni steps away from Yechidia my whole being starts to relax. Who would have thought that I could grow so attached to child I barely know. Yet I have and I have grown to care for her as if she were my own. As if she were really my daughter. I hope that Lina will feel the same. Oh, Lina. I have to get to her soon. Thethe last thing I need is to lose her before I ever have her. "Yechidia.." I start but she is already nodding. "I know, we will need to leave soon she is already in the human domain. She has been traveling in the rogue territory to keep hidden but we have to get to her before she endangers herself." Yechidia is pacing as she speaks. She stops suddenly looking around before rushing to the door. She flings it shut and locks it. I look at curiously as she starts making frantic hand motions through the air, as if she is drawing or painting. I blink a few times as figures start to appear in the air. Not just any figures but wolves. Jet black wolves with blood red eyes. They are running, no chasing something. My eyes follow Yechidia's hands as more of her vision comes to life. That's when I see her, Lina running through the woods with a young boy in her arms. "Apsel" his name flows from my lips before I even realize that I'm saying it. Yechidia's eyes spap to mine. "You know him?" she whispers. "Yes, he was brought to my village when he was a baby, barely walking. His mother stayed with us for a year before they both disappeared. It was as if they had never been there. I had began to question if any of it was real at all." I told her my eyes never leaving the boys face. His once perfect face now had a long scar running from cheek to jaw. He was covered in dirt and looked much to malnurished to even be alive. "what happened to you?" I whispered to the painting reaching out to touch him.

Just as my hand touched his cheek his eyes snapped in my direction locking onto my own as if I were standing right in front of him. "Khons" the boy whispered softly but I heard it as if he had yelled it in my ears. Lina stopped running. Looking down at the boy. "What did you say?" She asked eyes frantically searching around the forest. "Khons" the small boy repeated. "He's watching us right now, don't you feel him?" Apsel asked her she shook her head slowly. "Let me show you." she sat him on his own to feet in which he placed himself firmly on the ground. Squating he picked up a stick before finging an empty peice of earth. He began to draw just as Yechidia had.

In just a few moments I was looking directly into the face of my mate. "Khons" she breathed. "Lina, you can see me?" I asked reaching my hand out to touch her. "Yes, Yes! Oh God I am in so much trouble Khons. I am so sorry. I should not have ran like that. I just didn't want you to give up your life for me. I love you, I do. Listen I found this little boy in a rogue camp. They captured me but while they were sleeping I escaped. While I was sneaking though I saw him and couldn't leave him there. They want him Khons. I don't know what for but they are furious. We have been hunted since I left. We are in danger." she whispered, tears were brimming her eyes as she spoke to me. "A portal." Connor stirred from his sleep. "I can summon one. It will take some time but I can do it." he said walking over to the painting. "Connor" his name tumbled from Lina's lips, shocking both Conner and I. "You know who I am?" he asked slowly. "My brother. I came to your village when you were a little boy. My father brought you paints, you painted me. I still have the painting hung up in my room in my kingdom." she babbled trying to fit years worth of conversation into just a few moments. "I'm just so happy you are safe. I went to find you after I ran away but your village had been burned. It was completely empty." she told him. "what?" tears threatened to spill from his eyes. "You didn't know. Oh, I am so sorry Connor." she reached her hand out to touch him just as he did. As there hands touched through the painting the walls began to vibrate, shaking violently.

"Khons!" Macella yelled through the mind link. "What is going on?" He asked frantically. "Get here quick. Lina and Connor have opened a portal. We are going to get Lina. Get the others." I am yelling at him now. The sound of the house shaking is almost like the sound of a train barelling towards you. "What about Callum?" he asks. "What about him? He can not disobey an alpha command. He must leave Davanni for now. She is a threat to our family, everyone is a threat." I tell him linking Alec, Callum, Macella and Samuel all at the same time. "Come now, be quick and act casual. No one should know what is going on." I command. "On our way" they reply. Cutting the link with all of them I quickly link Callum "I know you are upset with me and I am sorry. Connor's Village has been burned and rogues are hunting Lina. I am not trying to hurt you but as of right now anyone I did not bring with me is not someone I can afford to trust." I tell him. "I know Khons, I may not be happy but you are my Alpha, my leader and my family. We are bound by blood and loyalty." He tells me. "thank you." Is the only response I give unsure of what to really say.

As the boys hurry through the door I send Sam and Alec through the portal before sending Yechidia and Macella, then Callum. "Connor you must go now I have to make sure no one attempts to follow us." My Alpha tone showing through. "If I go through the portal shuts Khons. You might not make it." He tells me. "That's a risk I have to take Connor. Go, Keep our family safe." I push him through the portal as Davanni and several others enter the room. "What is going on in here?" Davanni asks. That sly smirk spreading over her face once more. "You have both children? Get them" She commands. The men start to attack. As I take my defensive stance one of the large men lunge forward. I brace for impact ready to meet him with my own attack. The moment before he hits me a silver wolf lunges through the partically open portal tearing of one of his limbs. "Lina" I whisper. Slowly she takes her stance in front of me, defending me. I reach out and touch her fur letting her know that I am backing up. She begins to follow, never turning her back to the attackers. Before I know it I am falling. Falling through the open portal behing me with my Lina at my side.

Her screams fill the air. My attention is quickly turned to the man who made his way through the portal with us and is now attacking my mate. Anger rips through me and slowly I feel myself giving into my alpha wolf. With the intent to kill, I let him take control. My black fur starts to spread over my body, my bones begin to break and reshape as I shift for the first time into my alpha wolf.
