Eva POV

"Hey baby." Hope said, sitting down next to me.

Alaric called another assembly for what I'm assuming is another monster attack. Jed and Carlos are sitting with their pack and the twins. The twins can't wait to be real wolves but they don't know that that means killing someone and I'm not going to tell them yet.

"Hola mi amor." I said, kissing Hope on the forehead. Hope smiled and rested her head on my shoulder as the assembly began.

"Given our recent influx of monsters, Sheriff Donovan and I have decided we need to take drastic action. Please give him your full attention." Alaric introduced Sheriff Donovan, who stepped up to the podium.

"Like Dr. Saltzman was saying, local girls Dana Lilien and Sasha Stoteraux didn't come home last night. Dana sometimes skips town for a few days to party, but this is a first for Sasha." He explained the situation. I looked at Hope and she rolled her eyes before laughing quietly. I kissed her forehead again as Alaric stepped back up to the podium.

"Thank you, Sheriff Donovan. Now while the knife is away with Dorian and things are quiet on his end, it won't hurt to assume the worst. Now, I'll need a few of you to volunteer to go to Mystic Falls High under the guise of an exchange program meant to improve relations between our schools, which, unfortunately, is necessary, given recent events. Now, I give you permission to compel them, to gather materials for locator spells, because any information we can get will make all the difference." He told us.

"Well, I guess that I can set aside my differences with Dana for a day, because that is what heroes do. So I volunteer as tribute." Lizzie said, standing up. Lizzie's a good friend of mine but she's dramatic as fuck.

"She battles one gargoyle, and suddenly, she's Mother Teresa." Hope said to me. I had to stifle a laugh.

"Bebe, be nice." I told her and she laughed quietly.

"I'm in." Kaleb said, standing up.

"I'm in, too." MG said, right after him. MG smiled at Lizzie and took her hand. Hope looked at me and smirked.

"I'd like to help." She said, standing up. I sighed and stood up after.

"Guess I'm in too." I said with a slight laugh.

After the assembly, I changed it of my Salvatore uniform into some adidas pants and a t shirt. I decided to ditch my contacts for the day and go with glasses. Got to look like a normal, sleep deprived, high school student.

After changing, I told Carlos to keep an eye on the twins. Him and Jed both then started fighting over being in charge because they're dumbasses.

"Hey hot stuff." Hope snuck up behind me and wrapped her arms around my waist from behind. She kissed the back of my neck.

"Hey bebe." I turned around in her arms. She was all dressed for the mission at Mystic Falls High. "Since when do you have any interest helping the humans at Mystic Falls High?"

"Like I told Dr. Saltzman, I never got to go to a real school. I want to see what it's like to be normal for once." She said with a shrug.

I pulled her into a hug and kissed her head. She smiled and we walked together to the bus. We sat together in the set of seats next to Landon. Hope leaned her head against the window. She placed a hand on my thigh and I kissed her cheek. Landon looked over and looked really hurt. I felt bad for him. He obviously likes Hope but she only sees him as a friend, I hope.

When we got to Mystic Falls High, Lizzie took on her HBIC role. Great, just what we needed.

"Okay, here's the deal. Landon, you talk to any of the people you still know from when you went here. Hope, you try to not deliberately alienate the entire student body while the rest of us save the world." Lizzie demanded and Hope rolled her eyes.
