"Thank you Kacchan."

"Don't worry. 's my fault."

Izuku smiles, soft, as Katsuki nurses his wrist with unnatural gentleness, rubbing him comfortingly, ice pack resting on the dark bruises. In fact, they were getting better, now tinted yellowish instead of black and an unhealthy purple.

"Don't apologize! I got to kiss Kacchan!" Izuku giggles, but it dies down when Katsuki accidentally presses too hard. "Shit.." He curses, giving a quick peck on the heel of Izuku's palm.

It was his way of saying sorry.

"It's okay! I swear! Maybe if Kacchan hurts me next time, I'll get more kisses!"

Katsuki's heart plummets as his blood runs cold, and he feels his breath hitch and as stabs through his chest. Izuku looks at him, curious. "You suddenly got really pale."

".. Deku." He whispers, head hanging as he stares emptily at the sheets.

"... Do.. Do you really think I'll hurt you again?"

Izuku hums, as if giving it thought, and Katsuki tries calming the simmering anger in his chest. "If.. Kacchan gets mad enough," he mutters, cautious at Bakugou's sudden change of emotion. "Maybe he'll hit me and then cover me in kisses."

Izuku taps his own lips, smiling widely and brightly, as if delighted by the idea.

Katsuki only feels horror.

(What have you fucking done?)

"Deku.. Close your eyes."

Izuku obediently follows him, giddily nodding and his eyes shut. A present? Maybe!

Katsuki sighs his canines in his lower lip, and he lets out a choked sob.

".. Kacchan?"

"Don't open your eyes, Deku."

Tears run down Katsuki's face, and he weeps, and cries, because he broke the one promise he made to himself, to Izuku.

(You're just like his father, you know.)

"I'm so sorry. I'm so fucking sorry."

"It's okay, Kacchan. I understand." Gentle hands cup his face, and when if tears blurred his vision, he could see Izuku's eyes still shut.

Katsuki leans in, and he decides to be selfish and steals a kiss. Izuku makes a noise of surprise, but he smiles, smiles as if he wasn't wronged by him.

By everyone.

As if Katsuki wasn't the one to give him those bruises.

"I understand." He repeats.

And Katsuki leans into his comfort, crying and sobbing as he whispers apologies, I'm so sorry Deku, I'm so sorry, and Izuku simply cards his hands through his hair and everything was okay.

(Deep down, Katsuki knows Izuku doesn't understand, because he was too forgiving than anyone else.)
