Fight or Flight

Two days passed like that at U.A. The next thing the class of 1-A knew, they were going head to head.

The villain hadn't been active at all since its threats, which half-worried, half-relaxed Midoriya. There was now a 50/50 chance of the villain staying inactive during the day, but what really concerned him was the chance the villain could have at making its kill during the fight.

The fights went by very quickly. The following is the pairings and order they fought in:

Tokoyami vs. Shoji

Uraraka vs. Tsuyu

Ojiro vs. Hagakure

Iida vs. Shinsou < *no mineta, don't forget that...*

Bakugou vs. Kirishima

Sero vs. Mina

Momo vs. Jiro

Kota vs. Sato

Denki vs. Aoyama

and finally, the last battle of the day, Midoriya vs. Todoroki.

As the took their places on the large field, Midoriya knew exactly what was to come today. A sharp pang flew through his skull, dull at first but growing stronger. The fight had started by the time it reached its max.

Todoroki came running at Midoriya, ready to land the first blow, when the greenette dropped to his knees clutching his head. He was frantically pressing the pager, but knew it was pointless. The migraine soon went away leaving the remnants of a villain. Just as Todoroki shot his ice towards Midoriya, the boy stood and stopped the ice with his quirk. The ice shattered, but not Midoriya's arm. He had activated Full Cowling at ten percent, more than he usually used.

Piercing, yellow eyes met the heterochromatic eyes of Todoroki Shoto. Todoroki realized this and stepped back a bit. "M-Midoriya, now's not the time for this."

Aizawa turned to Uraraka, who was sweating nervously, and asked about the battle. "I heard something about Midoriya's behavior change a couple days ago. Did it leave this kind of impact on Todoroki as well.

"Um..." she stalled, looking for something to distract her. Her eyes landed on a buzzing pager on her bag. "Aizawa-sensei, stop the fight now. Something bad is going to happen."

"Yes, Todoroki will lose his spot as the class' strongest. He's losing to Midoriya."

Sure enough, Todoroki was scrambling away from the unscathed Midoriya, much unlike himself. He had cuts and bruises all over him already. Uraraka grabbed her teacher's sleeve.

"No, you don't understand. Something happened a little while ago. Midoriya's not in this to win, Aizawa-sensei."

"What do you mean, girl?"

"He-He's in it to kill."

This caught the attention of her teacher. "Explain later," he growled before shouting into his megaphone. "The battle is over, you two. Midoriya, get away from him."

Midoriya, however, did not listen. He kept rushing at Todoroki, landing a few blows, then back away again. Aizawa began to rush in, but was confused when he ended up ten feet behind where he started. Looking up, he saw a blackish-purple, misty portal floating above himself. "The League."

Shigaraki appeared next to Aizawa, not attacking, but speaking instead. "You know, it's really nice to see him fight like that." The teacher flinched and prepared to attack. "Woah there Shota," he slurred, putting his hands up in surrender. "I haven't hurt anybody yet, have I?"
