Chapter 10

Third Person
"Hello?" Laurance said into the phone. Confused on why Garroth has called so abruptly.

Silence.

"Hello? Garroth?" Laurance said again

A light thunk, and a faint sob came through the other end of the phone.

"Garroth?"

Only faint sobs are coming through the other end.

Laurance sits there confused, but doesn't hang up. Figuring silence and the knowing that someone is there is what Garroth needs at the moment. Laurance puts the phone on speaker, and goes to Dante and his shared bathroom. A light shuffle goes through the phone as Laurance enters the bathroom. Laurance glances at the phone with worry.

"L-Laurance?" Garroth spoke quietly into the phone.

Laurance quickly looks at the phone. "Garroth? Are you okay?" Laurance asked.

Silence again.

Laurance stares at his phone awaiting a response. Even if he knows that there's not going to be a reply.

More silence. It however wasn't an awkward silence. It was a nice calming silence. Something Garroth needed. The two sit there next to their phones. Laurance awaiting for Garroth to speak up, or for his snoring. Garroth on the other hand tried to come up something to say, wanting to break up the silence, but not at the same time.

After about 20 minutes of sitting, Garroth speaks up. "Laurance. C-can you tell me why you didn't respond until two three months later?" He asked quietly, alerting the brown haired boy on the other end of the phone.

"It's quite a short story to tell," Laurance said.

"That's fine with me. I want to know, I need to know," Garroth replied to his remark.

"Heh. Okay," Laurance chuckled, "Okay. It starts when I was hanging out with my now ex girlfriend, Michi. I was texting you, when we said our goodbyes cause you had class. Michi stole my phone. She goes through every social media app."

"Oh boy," Garroth mumbled into the phone.

"Yeah. She got angry cause she noticed that she was number two for everything. Snapchat best friends list, Instagram DMs list, my messages, phone. She even went into Discord and figured out that you were the top there too! She doesn't even have a Discord!" Laurance continued.

"Damn man."

"That's not even the worst part! She threw my phone out of my window! I wouldn't have minded if I lived on the first floor cause my phone probably would've got a crack or something! But nooo... I had to live on the third floor, so when my phone hit the ground it broke. Trust me I've tried turning it on multiple times it just didn't work. Anyways, I gave her a 'bitch what the fuck' face. What she said got me over the edge."

"What did she say?" Garroth asked.

"She said and I quote, 'Now you're all Michi's!'"

"Shit Laurance. She had it bad for you."

"I know. Let's just say, I broke up with her after that. That's really all that happened," Laurance said chuckling quietly.

"Not really Laur. I'm still confused on why you didn't contact me and tell me this sooner," Garroth said confused.

"Heh, yeah. Well, I would've of told you earlier if Dante actually came to our dorm. Dante was only here late at night only to go to bed as soon as he came in, and early in the morning. Which in his case he woke up only to leave for his early morning class," Laurance told the blonde, shrugging a little.
