The moment I reached out to grab her, she finished her chanting.
"-ponens totam rationem. Lumen ad hostem ferire, Dimensional Lightning Storm!"
An enormous circle was drawn on the top of the camp and streams of lightning slammed down on the helpless goblins. Half of the goblins that were charging were eaten up by the lightning, but rest got out of range of Eri's spell just in time.
3 swords, 2 blunts, and a spear.
I parried the first incoming goblin's sword attack and stabbed it down on the ground. There were three right behind it. I performed a sidekick on one of them and a roundhouse kicked another. Using the momentum, I pulled out my sword from the first goblin and sliced the closest one. The last one ran off. I pierced the heart of the goblins to finish them off.
I heard clapping behind me.
"*clap, clap, clap* bravo."
I gagged the moment I saw the horrendous gore.
"Are you ok?" Eri rushed over.
"Ugh, yeah just give me a... uhg... second."
Five minutes passed.
"Yeah, sorry. I'm not used to seeing this kinda stuff with my own eyes."
"Gee, what kind of environment did you grow up in?"
"In a future where there's no fighting like this."
*sigh*
"Now how do we report how many we killed?"
"For goblins, we take their right fang."
"Excusez-moi?"
"Yeah, right fang. Like THIS."
Eri kicked the mouth of a goblin. She reached into its mouth and grabbed the right fang.
I was already on the floor throwing up. She was laughing her ass off.
"ufgh, is me throwing up that funny to you..."
"*laugh* No, you just remind me of when I first became an adventurer."
"You were like this too?"
"Yeah, pretty much..."
"Then how-"
She put her hands on my shoulder and gave an emotionless face.
"You get used to it."
"Souka."
An awkward silence hit the atmosphere again.
"Can I leave the collecting teeth to you...?"
"Yeah, sure."
"What do we do about the goblins that fled?"
"They'll most likely gonna get eaten by monsters if they're alone, so don't worry about it."
I observed Eri as she was doing her thing. I tried my best not to throw up. I didn't want to get used to seeing gore, but I thought it was necessary to travel with Eri as an adventurer. Eri was going around the camps to gather fangs from goblins.
A couple of minutes passed watching Eri. I felt my body tolerating more and more gore but still felt sick inside the whole time.
I checked on my status window to see how much I leveled up.

A new window popped up displaying classes I could pick. Classes were limited to Warrior, Bowman, Magician, Rogue, and Fighter. After thinking over multiple times, I decided to become a Magician. Even though I had superior swordsmanship, I chose magic over the sword considering how magic would help me in everyday life also in addition to combat.
[ Warrior Bowman Magician Rogue Fighter ] [ Other ]
I got curious and checked what the Other classes were. From Entertainer to Cook, there were multiple classes available that wasn't combat-related. I stuck to my original plan and selected Magician.

With a heavy wind, an angel appeared. The angel extended its wing and shot a bright beam of light from the ground that sore through the sky. The beam shifted the clouds out of the way. The wind was pushing me down but I was able to withstand it. I couldn't even open my eyes for a second.
The wind died down and I looked up to see everything gone.
Holy fuq, that was a hell of an effect. Wow.
Status and skill tab opened up at the same time with a bunch of new stuff on them. And finally, I saw a new HUD, a mana bar.
Eri was staring at what just happened, dumbfounded. I closed down my UI.
I got some explaining to do~ Faq~
"Wha... Wu... Whe... A... Uooooo... Wha?"
She froze for a second but got moving again. She gathered the remaining visible goblins fangs and grabbed me.
"We're getting out of here."
"Ok."
She put the bag full of fangs inside her pouch as she walked.
"You know? That thing... that light was a beacon for all sorts of trouble."
"Yeah, I realized."
We started hustling down the mountain.
Eri and I arrived at the bottom. Eri made a frustrated face.
"Sit over here."
"Why-"
"I said SIT."
I went over and sat down.
"Mr. Kim?"
"Yes ma'am?"
"Talk."
"Yes ma'am."
I thought of what I could say, but no reasonable excuse came into my mind.
"You see..."
"Go on."
"I don't know *:P*"
Eri gave me deadly graze as if she was staring into my soul.
*wiping my nervous sweats*
"Ehehe."
