Hi, I wrote most of this at 5am the other night so it's probably bad but I'll fix it in the future; I wanted to get this out for Bisexual Pride Day but I'm a day late, oh well. Rated T/M for some heated kissing and some borderline smut towards the very end, you've been warned🤪

Joe groaned as he downed another shot; he was beginning to think that coming here was a mistake. Normally a loud club where everyone was drinking and dancing was his type of scene, but this particular one was different. He wasn't even sure what exactly he was doing there. Was he looking for a hook up? Was he just there to observe? Was he figuring himself out? Was he just trying to get a certain someone out of his head?

For months now, Joe had been confused, more confused that he'd ever been in his entire life. He'd always been into girls, and he'd dated a reasonable portion of the female theatre students at Michigan; Lauren, Meredith, Julia, Tiffany, Rachael, the list went on. Some had been a little serious, most had been flings. He definitely dated a lot, in fact there was probably no point in his UM career where he hadn't had his eye on a girl or two.

The past few months had been different to say the least. No girl had managed to attain his attention, despite how badly he wanted them to. He only had eyes for one person; Brian Rosenthal, his male costar in A Very Potter Musical, a parody show he'd done with some of his friends a few months back.

Of course he started out in denial. He was confused, he was lonely, he just really liked and valued Brian as a friend, the excuses went on. He'd catch himself gazing at Brian when they were all hanging out as a group, shake it off and tell himself that he had just zoned out. Several times he'd gone out of his way to be somewhere where he knew he'd run into Brian, hoping to engage in just a little bit of conversation. But no, that wasn't why he was doing it, he just really wanted to get a soda from a machine on the other side of campus or sit in a random hallway for twenty minutes.

Then the dreams started. Those were a little bit harder to play off.

At one point he had to accept that he was, at the very least, a little confused about his sexuality. But now that he was sitting in this loud gay club outside of Ann Arbor, he had to accept something else: he was definitely madly in love with Brian. Sure plenty of the guys here looked attractive, and while Joe could definitely imagine a scenario where he hooked up with one of these guys, he didn't want to. He didn't want to experiment with anyone except for the person who was the reason he was here.

He had all but decided to call it quits and had even taken out his cell phone to call a cab, when he heard someone ask him "come here often?"

Joe's head popped up. Brian Rosenthal, of all fucking people, was staring him in the face.
"Holy shi- I mean, h-hey." Joe stammered, forcing a smile as he stood up for no reason. Brian smiled shyly back. "Um no, I don't. First time. What about you?"

"A few times. I like it out here because there's never any other Michigan people that I have to worry about running into. Until today that is." Brian answered, sliding his hands into his pockets.

Joe laughed. "Yeah, that was sorta my plan as well, that's why I picked this bar."

"Great minds think alike." Brain said cooly.

Joe took a deep breath, trying extremely hard to not make a fool out of himself. His heart was racing. "Um, you wanna sit? I could buy you a drink. Like, if you want one."

Brian opened his mouth and then closed it, biting back a smile as his face flushed. "Are you asking if you can buy me a drink Walker?"

"Maybe I am." Joe shrugged, trying to summon his confidence back. Why was flirting with him so much harder than with girls?!
