Our story begins with students running through the halls of Riverdale High on the last day before Summer. My friends, Thomas Keller, Florian Andrews, Jay Blossom, Aurelia Mantle and I were just 16, but we were already tired of school. We didn't know that this Summer was gonna be a battle that would cost lives and friendships. For now, the last day of school was a day without worries or fears. As we went to Pops to celebrate with a milkshake, a new mystery rolled into town and that mystery would destroy Riverdale once again.
"I don't ever wanna go back to school again," Mika said as she gulped the few bits of her chocolate milkshake. The whole table laughed when she spilled a bit on her jacket. "Whether you like it or not, there's still something called Senior year." Thomas laughed. "Never the less, this Summer's gonna be the best Summer ever. We're gonna hang out right?" he continued. "Duh," Jay said. "My parents don't really bother if I hang out with you guys. After all, we're best friends." He said pointing at Ivy. "Well, our parents don't bother either. Dad doesn't mind anything. Did you tell dad about joining the serpents?" she said, looking at her sister who was still busy trying to get the chocolate shake of her jacket. "Uh...No. But he doesn't need to know? Right?" "Isn't your dad the serpent king? Isn't he the one who should have made you a serpent in the first place?" Mika stayed quiet. After a while, she said: "Your mom did it for me." Jay frowned at this and laughed. "My mom, Toni you mean?" She nodded. "I want to be a serpent too. But I'm too young according to mom. It's not fair. She joined the serpents when she was my age." Ivy said. "Well Ivy, you're just a baby in comparison with me." Mika mocked her. "Shut up you're only a year and a half older than I am." She bit back. "Geez, I'm happy I'm an only child. I wouldn't want to have a sister like you guys." Thomas said. When they gave him a serious look, he backed of. "Anyone interested in another milkshake?" Aurelia asked them. "No thanks. I'm going home." Florian said. "Me too." Thomas said. "My dad's the sheriff. He's gonna kill me if I don't come home on time." "Isn't your other dad like, a serpent?" Thomas nodded. "Yeah, but that doesn't mean he's just as careless as your parents are. Gotta go!" Thomas and Florian left Pops and it was just the three girls and Jay left. "I could stay here all night." Ivy said as she lay back with her arms behind her head. "You wanna stay at La Bonne Nuit? Mom's there right now so..." They were interrupted by Thomas running back into Pops with an exited look on his face. "You better come see this." He said. The three of them got up and as they walked out of Pops, they saw a car. But not just any car. It was a van-like thing and it was plain white. The doors opened and out stepped a man and three girls. They were wearing clothing that seemed to be ageing from the 1960's and the man looked up at Pops. "Girls, if you're hungry or thirsty from the long ride, this is the place to be." He then looked at the group of friends. "This is Riverdale, right?" Nobody replied. Eventually Florian spoke up. "Uh... yeah. Cool van." he added. The three girls walked up to them and introduced themselves. "My name is Isa. And these are my sisters, Lynn and Sam. Our father is going to start his shop here." "What kind of shop?" Mika asked, not completely trusting them. "Oh, a shop with natural healing creams and lotions. They really work you know." Lynn replied. "You should come visit when we're open." Sam added. Everybody looked up when a police car appeared in front of Pops. "You gotta be kidding me... Dad?" Thomas sighted. Kevin got out of the car and walked up to him. "What's going on? I just came here to pick you up. You new in town?" He said as he turned to the man and his daughters. "Yeah, these are my daughters, Isa, Lynn and Sam. And my name is John. John Greenberg." They shook hands and Kevin called for three more people who were in his car. Out of the car appeared Toni, Archie and Betty. To Ivy and Mika's surprise, their father was there too. Mika quickly pulled of her jacket and dropped it in a trash can behind her. "Hey girls, your mom and I thought, why not get the kids together. You okay?" Ivy nodded an Mika kept quiet. "Mika?" Jughead asked. "You okay?" She nodded and said: " Oh yeah, I had a great time." "Say bye to your friends, we have visitors at home." Ivy and Mika waved at their friends and walked home with their parents. Florian and Thomas stayed behind as Toni left with Jay and Aurelia left for home as well. "So. You guys are transferring to River High then?" Florian asked. "Yeah, but our dad thought it best to move here in Summer, so we could meet up with people and make friends." Isa said. "I'm starving, who wants burgers?" Lynn said as she walked towards the door of Pops. "We're gonna go home." Thomas said. "See you around.!" Sam yelled. As they walked home, Florian said: " Weird kids. Just really weird kids. Wonder what they're up to." "Me too." Thomas said. They reached Florian's street where he had to turn left and Thomas had to turn right. "Well, see you." He said. "Uhm... Florian... I was wondering... would you... uhm..." "Would I what?" He asked, confused. Thomas backed of his plan. "Never mind. See you." Thomas walked down his street and kept on thinking about why he did that, how he could do that and about how much he would love to be his boyfriend.
