Liki is staring at me like a kid going to the candy store in Disney World.

I find that very unsettling.

There was a metallic ring in his hand with a few buttons on it. What was surprising was that it looked exactly like the ring he was designing in the advanced blender.

His smile grew wider. "You should know, Peachy, that this ring is made by Cleo. I helped design it, and Indi made sure that it's not going to do any harm towards you. Want to know what it does?"

I flicked my ear in response, looking him in the eyes. He chuckled. "Well, you're going to need to try it on first! Just be prepared for going outside."

Liki pressed something on the ring, making it open up. Then he came towards me and put it around my neck. If Seika were in my nonexistent shoes, then they'd freak out. Me? I'm generally excited for what this ring does.

He made the ring close, and a small blue light blipped on for a second. Is something supposed to happen? I don't feel any-

Suddenly, my entire body felt refreshed, and hydrated. It was the most amazing feeling I've had during my years as a slime cat! I smiled at Liki and wagged my tail.

He whispered to himself. "I knew you would like it!" Then he directed his voice to me. "It's a special harness that, to say simply, makes the wearer able to be in hot places and still stay moist. Cool huh?"

Uh... heck yeah it is! Liki pulled out a leash and fastened it to my new collar. It seemed to be able to change length, like some leashes I've seen while being a human.

I shifted into flying form and landed on his shoulder. Based on how another week passed, I would be considered an early bonder.

Liki made his way over to the door, and went in a short hallway. It lead to other apartments, and more importantly, an elevator. We went inside.

The screen on the wall had a bunch of Kymari letter/number stuff. Liki dragged some of them towards each other, and pressed a symbol that looked like a circle with a horizontal line going through the center.

In mere seconds, a downwards arrow appeared on the screen, and numbers passed along the right side of it. It slightly reminded me of Mario kart 8, but I don't remember which track(s).

We reached the bottom floor, and exited into a lobby-ish area. Wherever the desk was, it was gone from existence. It doesn't really matter now, because we're going outside!

The sun's rays were weak against the new collar, and, really didn't do anything at all. It felt nice to be able to go outside on a sunny day without worrying about drying up.

Liki glanced at me. "For your information, Peachy, we are going to talk to my father before we go places. He's an elder if you were wondering."

Elder? Like a really old person? Hmm... I've heard from other Kymari that they are basically the superior spaghettis that make all the laws and stuff. It must be common sense for Kymari to consult with an elder before doing something as simple as getting a scarce pet like us.

Wait a second...

Eh. My mind's being weird again. We walked along the street until an "elder" appeared on a bench. His hair had whitened from age, along with a good amount of wrinkles along his skin. Judging from him and Liki smiling at each other, this elder is the father.

"Good morning dad!" Liki chimed, sitting next to him.

His dad chuckled. "Good morning, Liki. What's this little friend you have here?"

"Oh, its name is Peachy, and an it because we can't figure out a slime cat's gender."

Yeah. An it. Perfectly fine with me. Liki's dad studied me with a loving expression. "Looks like you and your brother have a thing for rare bond animals. You ready to take upon the duty?"

"Definitely. Slime cats normally would hide underground unless it's raining or foggy, but Peachy here loves the new ring."

"It makes the wearer hydrated in hot environments, correct?"

"Yes, it does, which is a relief. Me, Indi and Cleo made it together. We're hopeful that when Peachy goes back to its park that it'll tell all its friend about the ring's awesomeness."

I found myself agreeing with him. If Lucy and the others had been in my nonexistent shoes they would be as happy as I am.

A spark of reminder made me ignore the family members talking, and focus on the two gay foobs. "Hey Peter! Katy here! How's your kid situation going?"

He sent amusement down the link. "Amazing! They're still being lazy though and sticking to me... because, ya know, THEY HAVEN'T HATCHED YET! How about you?"

I managed to bring the refreshed feeling from when I first tried the ring on, along with a mental picture, and sent it towards him. His surprised jealousy made me internally snort.

"Goods. Liki, AKA the spaghetti that designed the ring of refreshment, is planning on taking me back to home base so I can get you hooked up on some of these rings. He and his awesome team are hopeful that more of us will try an attempt at a handler... according to him and his father."

"Well," Peter snickered. "We will be perfectly fine with those rings! It's been awhile since we could go outside because of the warm weather out there."

"Count us in too!" Bailey chimed.

Peter sent me an image of an emoji facepalming, and stopped mentally talking with me. I feel justified with that decision, because now all the slime cats will have one of those gigantic meetings about the ring.

Liki bowed to his father. "Thank you, elder."

"Hehe, see you around, Liki."

The two departed. We kept walking along the streets. I'm pretty sure I'm going to stay with Liki as long as I can.

Because of the ring.

Is this Lord of the Rings now?

Bailey will be happy.

Very happy indeed.
