Chapter 17- Now We Know

Nadia's POV
We enter the office as a couple, not hiding from anyone. Danny walked us toward the counter at the front of the room.

"Hi Susan, my dad is expecting me. Is it alright if I go see him?" She looked at her computer screen and replied, " yup he should be in his office right now. Head on back" she told us while pushing the button to let us through. Danny led the two of us toward a hallway. We came to a door and Danny stopped to take a deep breath, then he knocked while opening the door.

"Hi son. I thought it was just going to be you, but Nadia it's nice to see you again." He smiled to me.

"I wish it was sir." I said while looking at the ground.

"Son I'm confused what's wrong?" He was getting flustered now.

"Dad I don't how to tell you this but we think Nadia is pregnant but we know it's to early for a regular test. So we came to you because we don't know what to do." Danny was completely broken at this point.

"Well um Danny go into the hall for me would you? And close the door behind you." Danny was confused but listened to his father and left.

"Nadia I don't know you that well so please don't feel uncomfortable with the questions I'm going to ask you." I nodded looking up from the ground now.

"How far along would you be are pregnant?"

"About a week and a half." I saw he was writing this down and that scared me a bit.

"Well being that early you were right a regular at home test wouldn't work this early. The only option to know would be a blood test. I can give you one now if you want?" He told me what I already knew.

"Yes I would like that very much." I said while the years came down my face again. Mr. Woods came around his desk and sat on the chair next to me.

"Hey nows not the time to cry. We don't know anything right now." He told me while handing me tissues. "Now lets go and draw some blood."

We opened the door to see Danny sitting on the floor in front of the office. "Come on babe we're going to draw some blood now."

30 minutes later and we were waiting on the results of the test now. Mr. Woods had more appointments to go back to so Danny and I are just sitting in his office. Mr. Woods came in the room with a sad look on his face.

"So Nadia, you are pregnant. It's very early most people don't know for a very long time. Do you have an OBGYN already?" He turned his switch from dad to doctor very quickly.

"No I don't that's partially why we came to you." I didn't know how to process the fact I was actually pregnant. I mean I thought I was but now it's real.

" I can recommend on for you if you'd like? And Daniel by law I can't tell your mother about this so you need to and soon at that." Shit, he's getting mad now. I needed to get out of here. I got up and went out to the parking lot. I sat on the curb for a few minutes just crying, questioning everything I have done in the past few weeks.

About five minutes later Danny came and sat next to me. "My dad gave my the card for whatever he was talking about." He handed it to me.

"Danny we're going to be parents. How the fuck are we going to do that?"

"We'll figure it out. I'll get a job and support us." He told me while rubbing my back.

"Danny, we graduate after this year. We're going away to college. Well not I'm not now." Now the mascara is definitely done for.

"Babe, it will be ok. My dad said he's not happy about it but he'll help us figure it out and he'll help get my mom on board too."

"Speaking of which I want to tell her soon. But wait a little to tell mine." My mom is surely going to disown me when she finds out. I'm going to try and have just a little more time with her before she does.

"Let's just go back to my house." He said while pulling me up from the side walk.

"Make sure you buckle up. You've got precious cargo now." He was already being so protective. At least he's positive about this whole thing.

We went back to his house and just laid in his game room. Danny played some dumb video game and I laid in his lap. I pulled the card for the OBGYN Danny's dad recommended. I might has well call them and get an appointment.

I got up and walked out onto the patio.

"Hello Dr. William Harrington's office how can I help you?" Jeez ok I can do this.

"Hi, I just found out I'm pregnant as was recommended by Dr. Woods to come to Dr. Harrington."

"Ok well congratulations. How far along are you? So I can schedule you." Hmm not really sure it's a time for congratulations, maybe more oh I'm so sorry your life's over.

"Yes is still very early only about 2 weeks." She audibly gasped, at least I know just how rare it is to know now.

"Well yes you are still very early. We normally see patients around 6 to 8 weeks. I can schedule for then."

"Yes that would be great."

"How does April 28th at 1:30 sound?"

"Do you anything later in the day?" I have to try and go to school as much as I can. I can't have anything jeopardize me graduation at this point.

"No I'm sorry we don't have more appointments until May other than this one." She did sound sincerely sorry about it.

"No that's fine. I'll take the one on the 28th." I was just going to have to leave school a few hours early.

"Ok your all set. We'll see you then." Well now I have an appointment. I sat down on the patio furniture and rubbed my hands over my stomach. The fact there is a life in there is crazy. I heard the door open but I ignored it. I knew that it would be Danny.

"Hi baby. My mom's home with my siblings." He told me while sitting down next to me. We should probably sit down with his parents and talk about it. But what would we tell them when Danny and I haven't even talked yet.

"Danny can we talk about all of this baby stuff?"
