xikan sighed from his seat and looked back, holding the steering wheel as he complained, "okay. so why do you have to join us again?"

"you know you don't have to participate in this. this isn't even part of your field!", ruibin complained from his seat and crossed his arms

yanjun shrugged, "who knows what might happen to my wife", he looked at his wife's direction and wrapped his arm around xiaoxi's shoulders

ruibin rolled his eyes, "we're going to be fine, you know"

"shh. stop complaining!", yanjun ordered them, "drive now, xikan. we don't want any delays here."

xiaoxi smiled at yanjun as she slowly remove his arm around her shoulders, "babe, we'll be fine. miyoung and wenjun might need you any time now. it would bring problems if you're not quickly there to accompany them."

yanjun shook his head, "uh nah. we'll be meeting those people who had xiaojun tomorrow, so i'm fine going out of the house with you guys."

xikan, ruibin, and xiaoxi mentally sighed from yanjun's response, yanjun noticed the silence and quickly patted xikan's shoulder,

"let's go now, xikan. i heard the manufacturer's waiting for us", yanjun smiled towards him which is enough for xikan to be annoyed

"fine! just look out for your wife and don't interrupt us!", xikan hissed as he started the engine

yanjun smiled widely and nodded his head vigorously before xikan bolted the car out of the place

"i will not interrupt you that much guys, don't be bothered by my existence!"

xingjie parked the car at the side in the middle of a quiet street, maxine can't find out why so she decided to inquire

"what are we doing here? we have to go at my parents' house asap", maxine looked up from her phone to see xingjie

xingjie smiled and held maxine's free hand, "do you want to do it here?"

"are you serious, zhu xingjie?", maxine glared at the guy beside her, "in your car, really??"

xingjie gave her a smug look and nodded like a kid, "just please this once~"

"no!", maxine quickly rejected the offer of making out in his car, besides it's time consuming if they started to do it anyways

xingjie pouted as he wrapped his hand around maxine's arm, "pleaseeeeee~ i'm not going to ask you favors for the next two days!"

"two days?", maxine was quick to shake her head after her statement

"how about five?", xingjie tried to plead once again but maxine just shook her head, looking back on her phone to scroll on some updates from her twitter account

xingjie frowned as he slowly showed his index finger up, "how about one month?"

maxine looked at him and smirked, "two months it is then"

xingjie groaned as he unlocked his seat belt, he moved his body near maxine and puts his hand under her chin, he started to lean for a kiss but was interrupted when someone suddenly called from maxine's phone

maxine chuckled as she rummage through her bag to get her phone, "sorry babe, today's not a great day for us", maxine showed her phone, "i'll answer this first"

xingjie nodded as he moved away, maxine quickly placed her phone on her left ear, "hello? do you need anything, dad?"

xingjie was flustered by hearing the word 'dad' , after all xingjie and maxine's dad never clicked since the first day. maxine's dad was not fond of xingjie at all.

"mhm yes, we're heading at our house first!", maxine smiled through her conversation with her father

xingjie just looked at her, appreciating every part of her face and her body. maxine suddenly gasped, "oh? okay dad. i'll tell him."

maxine looked at xingjie who is now shaking in fear because of those glares, it might mean anything to xingjie. who knows.

"yes dad, i love you. take care.", maxine ended the call and placed her phone back in the bag

xingjie who was unaware of their conversation inquired, "what did he just said?"

maxine gave him a faint smile, "we should go at Shandong first, the Fan's mansion."

"isn't it on the opposite way?"

maxine nodded, "i'm sorry"

xingjie started the engine and smiled, "no worries but what was your father's reason though?"

maxine gulped, "we're having dinner at our place. my parents wanted to meet you."

xingjie coughed by the sudden news, maxine quickly opened a water bottle and gave it to him, "are you okay?"

xingjie quickly drank the fluids and sighed, "do i look fine? should we get a new suit or something? i want to look good!"

maxine chuckled and slowly patted xingjie's hair, "you'll be fine, don't worry"
