I don't know how we didn't get in trouble on the plane. We may or may not have been singing random rock songs with the people around us. It was a great time. It turns out, three of the girls around us were on their way to the same concert. Their names were Destiny, Caitlyn, and Sasha. They already knew us, and we had a nice time hanging out and fangirling with them. When we landed and headed off the flight, they asked us where we were staying. We told them, and it just so turned out that they were staying in the same hotel as us, and even on the same floor. One thing was for sure- we would not be getting much sleep that trip. We decided to all chip in and get a cab big enough for the six of us. Sasha called since her luggage came out first, while the rest of us waited. Luckily, none of us lost our luggage.
The cab showed up a few minutes later and we all piled in with our luggage in tow. The radio was on, and low and behold, American Idiot came on. The poor cab driver got to hear six teenage girls screaming the lyrics. He was probably glad when we arrived at the hotel. We paid him and got out laughing.
"Oh my God! Did you see his face when we yelled "DON'T WANNA BE AN AMERICAN IDIOT!" Caitlyn screamed. Destiny and Katie both impersonated the drivers face. We all laughed as we walked in the doors of the hotel. We got our keys before heading to the elevator. We all piled in and headed to the eighth floor. It was pretty late, so we were the only ones using the elevator. It soon dinged and the doors opened. We walked out and split up to go to our rooms, saying goodnight to each other.
Katie, Dakota and I made it to our room and decided to unpack our things since we would be here for a while. Mid- unpacking session, the others knocked at our door and explained that they had forgotten their toothpaste. We laughed, and told them to come on in. I was the only one who remembered to pack any. They got some on their toothbrushes and headed back to their room. We then got ready for bed and hit the sack. It had been a long day and we were exhausted. Katie brought her charging dock with a built in speaker so that we could listen to music at night. She put on her playlist, which was pretty much the same as Dakota's and my own, while we plugged in our own devices. I sent my parents a quick message letting them know that we had arrived safely so they wouldn't worry. We all crawled into bed, telling each other goodnight, and fell asleep soon after.
We woke up in the morning and took turns taking quick showers. The concert was the following day, and to say that we were antsy was an understatement. We got ready for the day, made sure we had our hotel key, and left our room. The other girls weren't up yet, so we decided to wake them up. We ding-dong-ditched them multiple times with no luck, so we figured out how to call their room. When Sasha finally answered very sleepily we screamed loud enough that the other girls would wake up as well. They all screamed back at us, mostly because we startled them. They got ready and decided to come with us to get our hair done.
"Hey, you must be the girls who wanted to get their hair dyed, am I correct?" The bubbly hostess greeted us.
"Yes, actually. That would be us three." Dakota answered, motioning to herself, Katie and I. We both gave small waves. The phone rang and she asked us to wait where we were for a minute.
"So sorry about the wait, something came up and a family of three had to cancel their appointment last minute!"
"When was the appointment supposed to be for?" Caitlyn asked, curiously.
"Actually, it was supposed to be in 20 minutes." The hostess replied. The other three girls looked at each other with wild grins on their faces.
"We'll take it. Let's get our hair dyed as well." Destiny exclaimed. We all headed back to the salon and took our seats. This was it. Bye-bye brown hair! We would all have to get our hair bleached, since our hair was fairly dark to begin with. Once the bleach was done and washed out, we grabbed quick pictures together. I looked quite ridiculous with bleach-blonde hair. I took note to never go blonde. I got my phoenix-inspired hair, while Katie's went from bright purple, to bright blue, to bright green, and Dakota's went from neon pink, to neon purple to neon blue. Destiny went with black into a dark blue into a dark green, Sasha went with dark magenta, into dark purple, into dark blue, and Caitlyn went with black, into teal, into a purplish pink colour. We were all stunned with our hair choices, and couldn't wait to show them off in public. We thanked and paid the salon before heading to a mall to look around. We were starved and needed food if we were going to carry on.
We found a food court in a random mall, ate, then headed off to shop around. We found some CD's, band merchandise, and, of course, some toothpaste for those who forgot it. Snacks and junk food were an absolute must if we were going to be around for five days, so we went to a Walmart, hit the sales, and stocked up. We felt like grandmas after challenging ourselves to use as many coupons for our snacks as possible. We paid $20 for half a cart full of things that should have been nearly $100 because we split up the food between all six of us. That way, we could all use coupons to bring down the price even more. It was clear that the cashier was not impressed, but he didn't deny us business. We thanked him and walked out of the store laughing. It was actually a smart thing to do. We all saved money. It felt like we were 'adulting', if that's even a word. We had no clue what to do, so we walked around Toronto for a while. We decided to get a tour of the CN tower because there wasn't anything better to do. We ended up doing the EdgeWalk because we were dare devils like that. We were a bit nervous at first, but it was super satisfying after a few minutes. We got souvenirs from doing it, like a video, photos, and a certificate. We also received a special ticket that allowed us access to most of the tower. Since they were valid for two days, we decided to keep them for the following morning to kill time until the concert. With that, we headed back to the hotel for a while. We all went to our room and hooked up Caitlyn's laptop to the T.V. We all just hung out watching music videos and random interviews until our stomachs growled. With that, we went to find a restaurant.
To say the time was dragging was an understatement. Every second seemed like a minute, every minute like an hour, every hour like a day... I think you get the point.
"How are we ever going to pass so much time? This is crazy!" Destiny exclaimed, flopping onto one of the beds in our room.
"No kidding. We still have 24 hours until the concert. I have no clue how to kill that much time. We decided to go shopping for games to play. We found Mad Gab, Reverse Charades, Apples to Apples, Drunk, Stoned or Stupid, 5 Second Rule, and Would You Rather. We each bought a game and lugged them back to the hotel. After countless laughs and mini arguments, we all hit the sack.
