sarcophagus reclined
marble instruments of men
initials inscribedfrom among the meadow green
monuments like mountains
each shouting a name forgottendo you remember your father's name
o child
do you remember those who came beforedo their bones, breaking and brittle
cease to cause awe and wonder
do their souls turn to dust alsodoes your life still matter
if no one knows your cause
or if the sea claims your corpsewhat is the sum of all actions
what is the price for your devotions
surely it is not this
