Not even going to lie to y'all, I was ready to just throw this story away lol. Been stuck on where I want to go with it. Still contemplating on how I want to end it, but enjoy!
Mateo sat on the couch with Kaiden in his arms sleep. He slowly got up to put him down in the bassinet they had downstairs. Jessica was in the kitchen making them a quick lunch. Once he laid him down he walked into the kitchen as Jessica had just finished setting their plates. She had made something simple and quick, hotdogs and beans.
She smiled as they caught eyes. He walked closer to her pecking her lips a couple of times. He loved her lips. She backed up from him, "let's eat. I'm hungry!"
She pushed their plates towards the stools that were lined up on the kitchens island. He took a seat as she came around doing the same. "What you got planned for today?" She questioned as she took a bite out of her hotdog. Mateo ate a spoonful of beans before responding. "Go to the house, grab some more clothes for the few days I have left before I have to get back to work. And probably hit the gym, that's about it though. You?"
"Well since your mom is coming to watch Kaiden I'll probably run some errands, just get some air since I've just been cooped up in the house."
Mateo nodded, "that's a good idea." They continued with light conversation until they finished their food. Once they finished Mateo grabbed his bag and made his way home.
When he pulled up to his house he saw a black truck that looked like Xavier's. But in his mind he told himself there was no way it was his. He quickly parked behind Sofia's car and got out once he grabbed his bag.
He barged in the house as Sofia quickly turned looking at him as she sat in the living room, her eyes slightly widening before turning into a smile. "Hey!" She stood up as she neared him. "Whose car is parked in my driveway?" He questioned not returning her hey.
She brought her eyebrows together as she stood up. "I told you to tell me before you came back."
"This my house, what the fuck I look like telling you before I come?" Sofia rolled her eyes at his reply as she crossed her arms. Before she could say anything a girl walked out the downstairs bathroom, entering the living room. "Oh hi!" She smiled as she looked at Mateo.
Sofia looked over at her, "Kate, Mateo. Mateo this is Kate, the person whose car is parked outside." A fire in Mateo dimmed down, part of him had truly believed that it was X's truck. Mateo spoke to her before heading up the stairs.
Kate and Sofia took a seat as Kate's eyes widened. "Chill out, we're good." Sofia whispered. "He clearly saw him otherwise he would have been back in here." Kate nodded as she noticeably calmed down.
"What if he stays awhile?" Kate questioned. "Then you go and we'll do it another day." Sofia pulled out her phone texting the guy in the car her plan.
She was thankful Mateo came when he did because had he came even ten minutes later, it would be a different situation. "Are you going to check to see what he's doing?"
Sofia shook her head, "that'll look like I'm up to something. You're my company, so I'm not going to stress him."
The girls sat in the living room fake watching TV as they waited for Mateo to be on his way, but after twenty minutes pasted the guy in the car let it be known he wouldn't be waiting much longer. "I'll be back." Sofia stated as she decided to go upstairs.
As she walked in the room Mateo was throwing stuff in a bag as he finished putting on a shirt, he looked like he was going to the gym and she was sure he was. "Going to work out?" She questioned as she crossed her arms. He nodded without looking up at her as he threw another pair of shorts in his bag before zipping it up and throwing it over his shoulder.
