"The fuck you just say?" Mateo questioned as he stood up with his hands on the table, leaning over closer to Dwayne.
"Baby chill out," Sofia tried to calm him down as she quickly saw his calm demeanor disappear.
"Mateo no!" Jessica let out as she looked at Dwayne with pure anger. She completely understood that he was defending her but he was taking it too far, because had Sofia said some stupid shit like that she would be ready to hop across the table too.
Dwayne avoided the heat of Jessica's stare as he smiled and put his arm around her chair. "You not about that shit boy, sit down." Dwayne knew Mateo was about it from their last encounter but he was going to fuck with him regardless.
"Dwayne stop," Jessica demanded as her voice was laced with anger, he was doing too much right now. Mateo sat down as their food was coming out his eyes on Dwayne, "keep that same energy when we leave this restaurant." He wasn't going to make fool of himself inside this restaurant no matter how much Dwayne pissed him off. But that statement definitely tempted him.
Jessica shook her head, she didn't want to stay through the rest of this. Nothing good was about to come out of it. "Can we get two to-go boxes?" She asked as the food was dropped off. The waiter nodded and went to retrieve them.
This caused Mateo to look towards her and Dwayne to look at her like she was crazy. Dwayne quickly shook his head. "Nahh, this nigga isn't about to mess with my good eating. We eating this shit right here. Fuck them."
"Fuck you!" Sofia yelled out, "like you rude and disrespectful as hell."
"Oh like you?" Dwayne questioned back.
"Or more like both of you," Jessica stated as she looked between Sofia and Dwayne before sliding her chair back and walking towards the bathroom. She was annoyed at this point.
Mateo quickly got up as Sofia called his name, he ignored it as he caught Jessica before she entered the bathroom. "Jessica." He called out as she stopped to face him. She deeply exhaled as she crossed her arms. "What?"
He sighed as he scratched the back of his neck, "I'm sorry, I knew this shit was a bad idea."
She shook her head as she brought up a hand to ruffle her hair. She wanted to believe this could have went another way, but who were they kidding. She knew Dwayne would react like this if Sofia started to come at her and when she invited him, she felt like she needed it. But he was stringing it too far. "It was, but at the same time it needed to happen." She sighed, "I'm just annoyed. Like this shit is stupid and I'm sorry he said that." She let out as she thought of Dwayne's last comment to him.
He stuffed one of his hands in his pocket as he brought the other one to his face rubbing his jawline. "Yeah, I'm not a fan of him. At all."
Jessica crossed her arms, already well aware of that. "I know, you two aren't a fan of each other."
He shook his head as she continued, "but at least I know he has my back at the end of the day." She paused for a second as they both watched a lady walk by as she said excuse me and headed to the restroom.
"He's kind of right," she continued, "granted his delivery isn't the best. You let Sofia get away with murder, like what type of shit is that? I did tell her to ask away so I'm not upset, but at any point would you have ever stepped in to defend me? You know the situation just like I do Mateo, and it's nothing like she's trying to make it seem. Did you even tell her anything when it pertains to me or this situation?"
"Yeah I told her! But I guess she wanted to feel you out for herself. I tried to stop the shit before it even started but you told her to go ahead. Was the shit too much? Yeah, but so was your dude."
