Sofia stood in Xavier's foyer with her bags. Xavier had agreed to let her stay with him until she got her place. "Thank you again." She let out.
"It's all good." He responded as he turned around heading towards the stairs. "Follow me, I'll show you which room you can stay in, or let you choose I should say." He turned back around grabbing two of her bags.
She followed him up the stairs as he opened three room doors telling her to choose which one she wanted. Each room was spacious. She decided to go with the one closest to his. He sat her stuff down, "make yourself at home." With that he walked out the room heading back downstairs.
Sofia plopped down on the bed, thankful as ever for Xavier. She ended up falling asleep, waking up to the smell of food. She made her way downstairs as Xavier stood in the kitchen cooking. She smiled, she had no idea he could cook.
"You cook?" She questioned as he turned around quickly. "I didn't even hear you come in here. But a little something something, you hungry?"
Sofia nodded, "I could eat." Xavier smiled. "Good, the foods almost ready." Sofia took a seat at one of the chairs that was lined up across his island. She let out a low yawn. "What did you make?"
"Something simple. Steak, broccoli and mashed potatoes." Sofia laughed, "okay simple. Simple is spaghetti." Xavier laughed, "it's one in the same."
He pulled out two plates as he started to plate them. "Can you grab the wine out the refrigerator for me?" He asked. Sofia got up opening the refrigerator seeing a thousand different types of wine. "Your choice." He stated before she could even ask. She grabbed one and then asked where his wine glasses were and grabbed those two.
He finished making their plates setting them at two seats at the island. She used the wine opener that was out to open the wine and pour some in their glasses. "You've always liked your wine cold." She made known remembering from times they all came to his house.
He nodded. "Taste better to me." Sofia chuckled as she put the wine glasses in front of the food and kept the bottle close to where they would be sitting. They both sat down as they started to enjoy the meal.
They sat talking and reminiscing and they shared laughs. It died down as it got quiet for a moment. "I'm sorry if I ruined you and Mateo's friendship by trying to get you to help me get him back."
X shook his head. "Not even your fault, it is what it is at this point. I said my peace. I apologized to his girl."
"His girl? They're together for sure?" Sofia questioned. "I mean Jessica, I don't know what they're doing honestly. We don't talk. I just know he goes to bat for her."
Sofia nodded as she bit her lip. She was on her third glass of wine and she was feeling it. "Don't stress it. His loss. Everything happens for a reason."
Before Sofia could think about what she was doing she crashed her lips into Xavier's. Xavier kissed her back for a moment before pulling back. "You're drunk Sofia."
She ruffled her hair back. "But making conscience decisions. Why did you push me off to Mateo? Why didn't you try to date me?"
Xavier took a sip of his wine. "I thought you two would be a good match. And you two were. You could have said no, but you clearly saw something too."
Sofia just looked at him for a moment. He stood up grabbing their plates. Throwing away the remaining food on the plate before putting them in the sink. "I'll wash them." Sofia let out. "It's the least I can do."
Xavier didn't argue her down as he turned around grabbing his wine and finishing it. "Get some rest Sofia." He put his wine glass in the sink before walking by her and placing a kiss on her forehead. "Or watch some TV, you did just sleep for a few hours." He remembered.
