Mia sat at her desk once again late at night, but this time she was alone, Ms. Walker had gone home about an hour ago but Mia was still very into her work. She as working on putting her own portfolio together. She wanted to soon present it to Ms. Walker, and with a job title opening up within the next couple of months she wanted to be prepared.

She worked seemingly endlessly for hours and was so focused she barely heard her phone ringing. She grabbed it and answered without a second thought to see who it was.

"Mia Kersley of PacificCoast"

"Mia Kersley" A familiar Australian accent knocks Mia out of her work daze.

"I did not just do that." Mia mutters as she rolls back in her chair, putting space between her and her work.

"Oh but you did, and it was adorable Ms. Kersley." Luke laughs.

"Oh god." Mia whispers a bush rising on her cheeks.

"What's got you ignoring my texts, Amelia?" Luke asks.

"Ignoring? Shoot, Luke i'm sorry I didn't mean to. I got so busy working-" Luke cuts her off.

"Mi, I just wanted to make sure you were okay."

Mia smiles. She thinks back to when Luke helped her through one of her breakdowns, then talked with her until she fell asleep. Her neck heats remembering his kind gesture.

"I'm okay." she whispers. "Thank you."

"Good, so what are you working on that has got you so busy?" He asks her, curiosity in his voice.

"I'm working on a portfolio. There is a job position opening up in the next couple of months and I want to be prepared. Having that job would change a lot for me."

"Really? You know I would really love to see your portfolio when it is finished."

"Why?" Mia chuckles, curious to know his answer.

"Because you are talented. I love the pictures you take. I'm almost tempted to hire you one of these days."

"Yeah right, Luke. I appreciate you saying that but don't try to flatter me. My pictures are mediocre. That's why I have this job, I want to learn from Ms. Walker."

"Mia, you're talented as fuck."

She just laughs. Mia stands up and walked to the large window looking over the city. It's 11:14 and the city still moves below her.

"Hey, Luke?"

"Yeah?"

"Where are you right now? What are you doing?"

He sighs.

"I'm in Chicago and at the moment it is 1:14 and I'm currently sitting on my hotel rooms patio so I don't wake Calum."

Mia smiles, she looks to her feet and kicks off her high heels. Feeling more herself, she sits back in her chair.

"Why are you awake this early?" She asks.

"Hmmm," Luke starts. "I'm not all that sure. I don't sleep much to begin with but I also missed you and wanted to talk."

"I can't believe this." Mia mumbles.

"What?"

"You. Being my friend."

Like chuckles.

"I can't believe you're my friend either."
