It was five minutes before 5 Seconds of Summer's show started. The band's usual excitement was in low spirits. Calum, Micheal and Ashton knew this was Mia's home, and that she was supposed to be here but she wasn't. But they didn't know why. Luke wouldn't talk to his band mates about what happened. They pushed to ask about Mia but Luke would quickly change the subject. Now the show that was most anticipated for the band was a downer to them.
Despite this they rehearsed beautifully. Luke was a natural. He effortlessly sang his heart out, just for a rehearsal. But the song was important to him. It's Mia's favorite. He didn't pick it for rehearsal but he didn't mind. He still loved to play it, and since learning that it's her favorite. He always puts everything he has into every performance of the song.
Luke stood to the side of the stage, staring through a small gap at the large audience. He usually did this before every show because he's always fascinated by the amount of people who had come to see them.
"Ah, Luke!" Richard, the bands manager calls from a short distance away. Luke hold back an eye roll before looking to the older man. "I want you to really watch your facial expressions tonight okay?"
Luke stares at the man in front of him with squinted eyes.
"Facial expressions?" He repeats.
"Yes, I have an important photographer coming tonight doing a piece on you guys that I think you'll really enjoy. So watch your facial expressions."
"I-I can't watch, my face Richard." Luke says I'm near disbelief at the mans request. He had never really been asked to watch his 'facial expressions'.
Richard gives Luke a pat on the shoulder.
"Well try. PacificCoast is a big deal around here, we want to look good, alright?" Richard says while walking away.
Lukes face puzzled when he told him to 'try'.
"Ready Luke?" Ashton called from near by.
And with a nod of the head and a deep breathe, Luke with his guitar walk into the fog of the stage to start the show.
