10 years later

It’s already been the 7th stay of Lisa this month in the hospital. True she reached the age of 16 successfully this year but she still has to either go or stay at the hospital for every twice a week for further examinations, observations and for the worst case scenario, if she has a sudden heart attack, in which unfortunately this time, is the reason for her stay in the hospital for 3 days

“How am I?” she asked Jennie’s dad who’s busy checking her heart beat using stethoscope.

“You’re stable, you’re all right. You may go now”

Lisa upon hearing what he said, smiled excitedly and buttons the long sleeve she’s wearing. A long line of vertical scar is very evident in the middle of her chest, implying she undergone lots and lots of operations since kid.

“Yes! Then my long stay here is finally over” she cheered

Despite the weak heart, Lisa grew up as cheerful and always wore that smile on her face. In first glance, you wouldn’t know she has this rare heart disease

“Yes but you will still come back here twice a week, take your medicine, avoid any exercise..” the doctor ordered

“Yeah I know.”

“Oh and remember no sweets, no salty foods, no-

“Aish I know that already, don’t nag me” Lisa saluted playfully before she rudely left the room.

Leaving Jennie’s dad to just shut up his mouth for he realized she’s not that silly kid anymore and she has really grown up already.

Lisa then happily walks outside the hospital, she felt alive again to see the world outside her usually  four-cornered wall room in the hospital. As much as she wants to run towards Jennie who was waiting for her, she can’t, as her doctor said, she can’t do any type of exercises.

“Jennie?” she tried to call Jennie down the stairs with her headphone on her ears

“Jennie..”

She called again but failed to get a response, Jennie on the other hand is already 18 years old this year. Wearing her school uniform, she seems so focused listening to her music through her phone.

Lisa slowly walk downstairs as she observed her friend, that recently became her lover after the kiss they made when they are kids.

“Jennie” she said and appeared in front of the brunette

Jennie rolled her eyes and say “Niniii” she prolonged “You used to call me that when we are kids, why aren’t you calling me that now?” she pouted

“What for?” Lisa teased

Jennie pouted again and held Lisa’s hand “Nothing, I love how you called me that way”

Lisa also intertwined their fingers as they walk through the streets, holding hands together.

“What did dad say?” asked Jennie, swaying their intertwined hands together.

She was happy now that Lisa is on her side after the 3 suffering days of being alone and bored in school, despite of two years being older than Lisa, Jennie decided to be in Lisa’s grade as she doesn’t want to be separated from her.

“He said I’m okay, I can go home” Lisa answered and nodded her head, Jennie was again staring at her girlfriend

“Neh Lisa, have you grown taller again?” she asked as she noticed how Lisa had grown really tall in her young age
