05. You did well.

Season 2 Episode 17: Know thy enemy

"You called." Lilith walked up to the two Salvatores who were standing with their back to her. Damon and Stefan turned around to face her. "Isobel is back in town." Lilith's eyes widened, she thought she scared the young vampire out of town last time she saw her.

"How?" Lilith was one, one small second away from finding the vampire and ripping out her heart.

"Showed up on the Gilbert's front porch." Damon crossed his arms over his chest and leaned against a nearby tree.

"Why?"

"That's the problem we don't know." Stefan rubbed a hand down his face, suddenly looking older than he actually was. Lilith watched the two Salvatores with interest, Damon's behavior was one of that who loved another. She'd keep and eye on him, him and Isobel.

"I'll keep an eye out for her, if I find her I'll ask her myself." Stefan suddenly shot up.

"Lilith, your way of asking is torture. We don't need that." Lilith rolled her eyes at the younger brother but nodded all the same.

"I need to go but I will keep and eye out." Damon nodded and Lilith left. Damon waited until he couldn't see the brunette before he turned to his brother.

"Something's up with her." Stefan looked at Damon with a nod.

"I know."

"What are we gonna do about it." Damon liked the brunette but even he knew she was acting weird, disappearing at random times and showing up later, acting like nothing happened.

"Nothing. She's older than us, stronger, we don't need a fight. As long as she doesn't hurt Elena we'll be fine. It could be nothing." Stefan knew that no matter what they did they couldn't win a fight against Lilith.

"This is bad. Between Isobel and Jenna and now Matt, this is disaster bad." Elena was pacing around her room while her boyfriend, Stefan, sat on her bed deep in thought.

"Yeah." Before Stefan could say more John walked into the room.

"Elena, can you come downstairs, please? I need to talk to you."

"I have nothing to say to you." Elena was pissed. John suddenly came in here and ruined her Aunt Jenna's life.

"Please. It's important. You, too, Stefan." Stefan stands and grabs Elena's hand, taking her out of the room. When they reach the bottom floor they watch as Isobel comes out of the kitchen.

"I asked John for a do-over." Isobel looked at Elena and saw the unhinged anger in her eyes. Elena looked at John, anger clear on her face.

"You invited her in?" John looked at Elena.

"She has information about Klaus. Please, just listen to her, okay?" Elena looked to Stefan and he nods to Isobel.

"Since I was last here, I've been doing everything possible to find Klaus. We knew our best chance was to find him before he could find you."

"Best chance at what?"

"Keeping Elena alive." John jumped in before Isobel could respond causing Elena to look at him.
