31. A Mistake Was Made.

Season 4 Episode 5: The Killer

Lilith wandered around an excavation site, Klaus at her side, as they looked at all the workers helping to dig up the sword. Klaus compelled all of them and once they were finished he promised Lilith a snack. That made her perk up and grin. Lilith felt her phone buzz in her back pocket and she pulled it out.

One of her minions back in Mystic Falls was calling.

Lilith raised an eyebrow but answered the phone before the call disappeared. "Hello, Miriam." Lilith greeted. Klaus paused mid-step next to her when he heard her voice. "Why are you calling?" Lilith asked, annoyed. She specifically told her minions to call only when absolutely necessary.

"Mrs. Mikaelson," Miriam paused briefly. "I came to check on the prisoner and he's gone." Miriam's voice was quiet, not wanting to anger her mistress. Lilith felt anger fill her body but she forced it down, it wasn't Miriam's fault.

"Very well. I will deal with this. Call Gabe and get the jet ready, I'm heading back." Lilith said with a quiet groan. She really didn't want to deal with the stupid hunter right now.

"Of course, Mrs. Mikaelson." Lilith hung up and put the phone back in her pocket. She growled loudly, getting a concerned look from her lover and scared looks from the workers. The went back to work with a glare but Klaus stepped forward and wrapped his arms around Lilith's waist, drawing her closer.

"What's wrong, love?" Klaus asked, hand rubbing up and down her back. Lilith nuzzled her head into the junction of Klaus' neck and shoulder before looking up.

"Connor escaped." Lilith groaned and Klaus' hand froze for a moment before continuing up her spine. "Which means I'm heading back to Mystic Falls within the hour." Lilith dropped her head to Klaus' chest with another growl.

Klaus pulled her closer and pressed at kiss to her head before using his finger to tilt up her chin. "Relax, sweetheart. I'll call Stefan and have him deal with it." Klaus smiled and tightened his arms. Lilith smiled as well before it fell and a frown took its place.

"I trust Stefan about as far as I can throw him and besides we don't know what tricks Connor has up his sleeve. Connor also thinks I'm a vampire so I'll be able to do more than Stefan." Lilith's voice was annoyed and her eyes flashed with anger.

"Still, I'll call Stefan just to give you some help, even though I know you don't need it." Lilith smiled and reached up a hand to mess with Klaus' necklaces.

"I love when you get protective." Lilith purred as she pulled the necklaces, making Klaus lean forward. Lilith winked, pressing her lips to Klaus', making the hybrid groan. Lilith pulled back after a few minutes with a grin covering her face. Klaus chuckled and kissed her again.

Klaus stepped back and dropped his arms from Lilith's waist. "I know you do. Now, get going, the jet's waiting." Klaus jerked his head in the direction of the jet. Lilith nodded.

"The quicker I get back, the quick we can have some fun, I'm bored." Lilith said with a naughty glint in her eyes as she turned and sauntered away. Klaus watched her go with a lovesick smile and an amused shake of his head. When Lilith disappeared from view Klaus pulled out his phone and texted Stefan.

His phone rung a moment later.

"How the hell did Connor escape?" Stefan asked immediately once Klaus answered the call.
