19. Don't Get Cocky.

Season 3 Episode 12: The Ties That Bind

Lilith and Klaus were inside the Salvatore house having a bit of fun. Music was blaring and the alcohol was decent. Klaus was reclining in a chair and Lilith was in his lap, facing him. The two were talking and having fun waiting for Stefan. "Is he even going to show?" Lilith asked after taking a sip of alcohol.

"He'll show, he always does." Klaus said with a grin and Lilith returned it. They both heard the  front door open and shot each other a look. Lilith swung her leg away from Klaus and stood up right before Stefan entered the room. Stefan turned the music down and crossed his arms.

"What are you doing here, Klaus?" Stefan asked with a Jared expression on his face.

"Enjoying our stalemate. Did you enjoy your little gift?" Klaus said, referring to Lilith's bite, and Stefan shuddered slightly. Lilith smirked.

"What do you want?" Stefan avoided looking at Lilith even though she was staring right at him. Stefan hates when she does that because it feels like she's looking into his very soul. It's uncomfortable and terrifying.

"The question is what you want? My hybrids left town as you demanded, so please tell me what I need to do to get my family back." Klaus said with a grin as he drank his alcohol.

"Well, see...Klaus...I'm not negotiating."

"And you understand, that holding them indefinitely is the same thing as dropping them in the ocean?" Klaus asked with a raised eyebrow.

"No, No. You leave Mystic Falls and then give me call in a few years and we'll talk." Stefan tried to sound tough but the moment he saw Lilith's fangs he shrunk back.

"I can give you another chance. Just one more. Let's make a reasonable deal."

"Or what? You make one move and I will drop..." Stefan started but Lilith jumped in, cutting him off.

"Yes, right. Crazy Stefan. How is that working out for you? Any friends left?" Lilith laughed and with that Klaus grabbed her hand and together they left, heading for the grill.

When the couple reached the grill they sat at the bar and order some drinks. Klaus makes phone rings and he pulls it out. It's Daniel, one of his minions. "How's life on the road?" Klaus asked instead of a greeting.

"Scenic. How's life in Mystic Falls without any hybrids?" Daniel asked as his own way of greeting.

"Boring. For now." Klaus answered truthfully.

"If you want any of us back, you just have to say the word." Daniel said with a small smile even though Klaus couldn't see it.

"There's no need. I've been making friends with the town civil servants. There's a deputy, obnoxiously chatty, but useful nonetheless. You're clear, what you need to do?"

"I got it covered." Daniel said and Klaus smiled. He turned and told Lilith the news and she smiled as well. Klaus hung up the phone and put it away.

"He made it?" Lilith asked.

"He did." Klaus nodded.

"Good. I really want to go hunt, care to join me?" Lilith offered and Klaus obviously took her up on her offer. He loved watching her hunt and visa versa. Lilith stood from her seat and made her way over to a lone male near the pool table as Klaus did the same to a woman.

Damon led Klaus and Lilith into the room that held the coffins. Lilith looked at them with a certain smile. She loved her family even if they didn't love her. The last coffin, the one that was locked, Lilith glared at. She knew what was in it and she hated it.

"What took you so long? Hiding behind your witchy friends. And in squalor, no less." Klaus says and suddenly Klaus falls to his knee, clutching his head and shouting in pain. Likith ran over and rubbed his back. She snarled at Damon when he walked closer.

"Insulting a bunch of dead witches...not smart. I made the exact same mistake first time I came in here." Damon says as the pain subsides and Klaus speaks in a forced, strained voice.

"Well, you know, the funny thing about witches is, that living or death, they care about their own. A hundred dead witches have a thousand living descendants..." The pain returns. Klaus shouts out in pain before he talks in a loud voice, addressing the room. "And I have no problem, killing every last one of them, if I don't get my coffins back. As we speak, my hybrid friend is prepared to end the Bennett line." Klaus threatens and the pain stops.

Lilith lets go of his shoulder to grab his face. "You okay?" Lilith asked, concern in her voice, and Klaus nods. Damon watched from the side. Lilith let go of Klaus and stepped back.

"Now...please...show me the coffins." The coffins appear. "Here we are." Klaus says before turning to Damon, anger burning his eyes. "Where's the fourth? Show me!" Klaus shouts.

"Well, here's the thing. They can't. It's not here." Damon says and Lilith grabs him and foxes him to the floor. Damon groans in pain.

"What did you do?" Lilith snarled and tightened her grip. Damon shouted.

"Well, Bonnie gave me the heads-up. I didn't have enough time, to get all four, but I did have time to get one." Damon seemed cocky and Lilith didn't like it.

"I will tear you, limb from limb. And only then, when you're a riving mass of blood and flesh, will I rip your heart from your chest." Klaus threatens and he nods at Lilith.

"Sorry. The same rules apply. You know, leverage and all. I know you want your family back. But something tells me, you want what's in that coffin a lot more." Damon smiled, proud, and Lilith but his neck. Venom rushed into Damon's body causing him to scream. Lilith pulled back and threw him into the wall.

"Trust me when I say this, Damon, never get cocky around Lilith. She hated it." Klaus said to Damon as Lilith hissed.

Daniel shoves the coffins in a big room. Klaus is standing beside him. Lilith was running her hands across the coffins, making sure they were safe. When they were she stepped back. "You've got your family back. Finally. You're gonna open them?" Daniel asked as he looked at Klaus.

"Not quite yet. I still have some unfinished business to take care of." Klaus answered and Lilith smiled.

"What business?" Daniels says and suddenly Daniel is squirming and falls to the floor, dead. Elijah is standing behind him with his heart in his hand. Klaus looks shocked. Lilith jumps next to Klaus and snarled. She stopped when she saw Elijah.

"So, Niklaus..." Elijah started big Klaus shouted out in shock.

"Elijah!"

"What did I miss?" Elijah asks as he looks at Klaus and Lilith. He gives Lilith a smile but she narrowed her eyes. Lilith would never admit aloud but she's happy Elijah's back, she missed him. He was her brother-in-law after all.
