I was shadowing Ruby when her half-sister Yang spotted me. Smiling, she waved me over. "Hey, you there! The one without anyone to talk to! Come here, will ya?"
Sighing inside, I walked up to the two. "Yes?"
Yang held out her hand. "My name's Yang and that's Ruby! You?"
I shook it. Boy, did she have one heck of a grip! "Eagle. Eagle Shadestep."
"Well, nice to meet you, Eagle! Say, did you come here with anyone?" She had zero clue that I had been shadowing her half-sister.
"My sister, my younger by two years. She got in early, just like Ruby here." I smirked at her.
She got nervous. "How... did you know that?"
"From how young you look. Everyone here is either seventeen, just turned eighteen, or about to turn seventeen. You look like early sixteens, I want to say, possibly later fifteens."
"Oh. Y-yeah, I'm fifteen..."
I chuckled. "One year Daphne's younger. Anyways, I was curious as to what you have for weapons."
Yang had to bolt to stop Ruby from drawing her weapon. "Not in here, sis. Sorry about that, her weapon's massive. Mine, on the other hand," she pumped her arms, revealing that her bracelets were arm-mounted shotguns, "Are compact. You?"
"I've got all sorts of weapons. Throwing knives, daggers, a couple of swords, a gun on my back and right there on my left hip. All sorts. But as for my signature weapon, well..." I chuckled and drew Shadows, my one-handed, lightweight yet strong, matt-finished falchion. "It has to be this one."
Ruby's eyes lit up. From what I heard of her mother, the two seem to share an awful lot. "Cool! What does it do?"
I smirked and twirled it onto my shoulder. "This."
Concentrating, I covered my sword in Aura, making it glow. They were absolutely stunned. Taking back my Aura with a chuckle, I held my blade off to the side.
"It can also use certain kinds of Dust, like Dark Dust."
They looked at me. "What's that?"
I chuckled. "I'd show you, but everyone in this ship'd hate me. It can literally make an entire area be blacked out. No light, what-so-ever. Perfect darkness. Even Faunus can't see in the darkness."
Ruby tilted her head. "But wouldn't that put you at a disadvantage as well?"
"It would, if I hadn't trained my four other senses. My sister and I have a thing we like to call 'Eagle Vision'. It's a sort of sixth sense, activated by tuning out distractions and focusing on the world around you with your whole being. If you want, I could try teaching it to you some time."
Ruby began to get giddy as I sheathed Shadows. "That. Sounds. Awesome! Yes, please!"
I laughed. "Alright. Find me later tonight, okay? Wait, better idea: try finding me in the crowd during the welcoming speech in the auditorium with Eagle Vision as I try sneaking up on you. I won't go easy! Yang, you can't help her whatsoever."
She shrugged. "Fine by me."
Ruby smiled wildly. "Sure thing! Ooh, I can't wait!"
It was then I decided to walk away chuckling. She has no idea what she's in for. Anyways, managed to get a sample of both of their bloods, so we'll be able to set up an Animus session with this once the Den sequences it.
The ship landed and I walked off, heading straight for the auditorium. Flipping on my hood, I blended into the crowd and waited in the middle of a group of guys as I waited for Ruby. She came in with some blond boy, which she promptly dumped to stay with her sister.
