Hate

I appear in the labs of Alphys, and the other scientists from her group, and realize that it's already evacuated. Sans appears behind me with Asriel and we walk in together.

"So, what are we expecting?" Asriel asks.

"I'm not sure, bud." I answer him. "Just stay close to Sans and me." He does what I say and we walk around for a moment. "Let's get to the training room, we can train then get out of here, it's always creepy when everything's off."

"It has gotten pretty bone chilling in here." Sans says, trying to lift the mood.

"No, you two aren't getting that started." Asriel says.

"Let's just get down there." I say.

"Not. So. Fast." A very familiar voice says. "I've been waiting for you."

"Why are you here?" Sans asks.

"To destroy all of monster kind." The thing says. A pink scythe in hand, as she smiles towards us. Hard to believe she's the same age as Frisk, or Chara. "I mean, you were put underground for a reason after all."

"All the good that did you." I say. "So, here to pick a fight? Or just run again, for the third time."

"Heh, I thought you'd never ask!" The girl answers, before I suddenly feel all my powers drop. "But I'm not fighting you." I turn and see a woman step out and blast Sans with a gun, causing him to lose his powers too.

"Asriel! Run!" I shout.

But he's frozen in place, bound by fear. "Your soul, in particular, is out of place. It shall be mine!" Her scythe, now spear, launches forward, but I can barely get any feeling back, before I see Sans' soul pulled out of his chest, with my brother laying on the ground. "Not who I was going for, but I'll take it." The spear comes back and forms into a small pink blob. It eats the soul, as Sans crumbles into dust.

I hold out my hand, feeling nothing but pain and hatred. My powers are back in full, and then some, as I appear in front of my brother. I'm able to distinguish between family and enemy, but only just, as I form a black shield around us. "Go home, now! Before I lose control!"

Asriel can't say anything, but I form a black ball of energy in my right hand, causing him to snap out of his trance. "I'll go and warn everyone at home!"

"Tell them the bad news as well. I'll be home soon." I say turning to face the monster. The black shield drops, and I'm staring at them over my shoulder. "Just you and me now, monster."

"Interesting." She says. "Your soul is mine next."

"I'm going to kill you." I say, before turning towards the woman with the gun to disable magic. "Wonder how well that gun works against HATE." She backs away, just enough for me to see the grey hair to tell me who it is. I grit my teeth as I face the girl again, as she launches her spear at me. I dodge the attack and send a black energy ball past her head, as it stops in the middle of the air and starts to suck everything inside of it. "That's new." She moves near me quickly and the ball disappears, as does everything that was sucked inside of it. I conjure a fireball, now with ease, as the fire is now black and blue. I throw it at the girl, and repeat these motions, keeping her off of her feet, before she smiles.

"Rhadophobia!" She shouts, causing the fireballs to freeze in the air, before being sent back towards me. I form a quick sheet shield, and the fire burns against it, before I see a pink scythe swing at me. I block it with a black machete, and we are now locked in bladelock. "You can't win!"

"Says the one feeding her own fear to her soul." I answer. "Your powers don't match my hate for you or my determination to kill you!" I grab at the air, which quickly becomes the horn of my gaster blaster. I pull down and it blasts a massive white blast at the girl. Her scythe now forms into a pink shield around her body and protects her from my attack, until I place my hand on the back of my blaster. The white attack stops, and blasts out a massive blast of black at the pink shield. The shield cracks and shatters, catching the girl and flinging her backwards. She smashes into the wall, before coughing up blood. The pink blob now forms over her as she retreats away. I turn over and see the grey streaked woman has left too, so I calm down. I see the dust that was once Sans, and can only feel the pain for the loss. Tears running down my face, I fall to my knees. "Don't worry, Sans. I'll make sure you didn't die in vain."

I take a breath, stand up, wipe my face of any tears, then appear inside my home. As I appear out of thin air, I see Gaster and Papyrus walking towards the door, which I now cut them off from. "Branden!" Gaster yells. "Where's Sans?" I look away, and feel the tears running down my face. "What happened?"

"We were ambushed, that thing with a pink soul was waiting for us. Someone else was there with a gun that disabled our powers for a short time." I tell them. "Asriel was the intended target, but Sans intervened, gaining back his powers faster than I could." This is where my tears start to get heavier. "That thing took his soul, and killed him." I turn to see Asriel walk in the door. "Hey, bud."

"You beat me home?" He says.

"Yeah, the battle wasn't long after you left." I say. "But Gaster has a new ability to study when this is all over."

"And what might that be?" Gaster asks.

"Hate." I answer. "After what happened, I started throwing black energy balls, my flames were black and blue, and even my machete was black."

"Interesting. This is a subject of study at a later date." Suddenly there's a surprise knock on the door. I turn and see her. Grey. I turn and feel my hatred come back. Three Gaster blasters form aimed at her, before I see Papyrus standing between her and myself.

"Move." I say simply. "Don't protect a murderer from her judgement!"

"If I move then you'll kill her!" Papyrus yells.

"Because she's the reason Sans is dead!" I can see Gaster out of the corner of my eye, as he contemplates what I've just said. "Move now, Papyrus!"

"No!" He shouts back.

I look at him, my emotions suddenly settling, and shake my head. "Why would you defend the murderer of your brother?"

"Maybe she didn't mean for this to happen?" Papyrus says. "But everyone deserves to have a second chance, right?"

I stare at him for a moment, and Gaster beats me to the punch. "Murder is irredeemable!"

"No, it's not, G." I say. "Let it go, maybe she can help, I guess."

"It took a vial of HATE to take you on again." Miss Grey says. "I believe that it is heading here after gaining enough fear to build up its strength again!"

I sigh, Asriel looks at me with concern and Gaster looks at me and we exchange a nod. "I'll get Alphys and meet you at my lab outside of town."

"Take her too." I say pointing at Miss Grey. "She may be useful against the monster."

Gaster goes to retort but I give him a slight glare and he thinks better of it. "Alphys, Undyne, Miss Grey, and I will go to the lab."

"Papyrus, why don't you take Frisk, Asriel, and Chara out for a while." I say.

"What are you going to to, my child?" Toriel asks.

"To be alone." I say and teleport away.
